A Connecticut-based sports reporter was fired on Wednesday after referring to Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., as an “Uncle Tom” in a now-deleted tweet.
The Hill tweeted a link to a story about Scott saying he thought President Trump “misspoke” when he said "stand back and stand by," but called on him to correct his statement if that really were the case.
Now-former News 12 Connecticut sports reporter Fred Gerteiny responded by writing, “Thanks Uncle Tom,” and swiftly lost his job as a result.

I left Connecticut decades ago, though I still keep tabs. I was surprised that there was a “News 12” in Connecticut, as nearby Providence, Rhode Island has an over the air Channel 12.
It turns out that “News 12” is a small regional cable TV only operation, with satellites including Norwalk, CT. Locals can correct me, but I believe it is pretty small potatoes, even in terms of a “peanut state” like Connecticut.

Oddly I have a problem with this and I am a hyper conservative libertarian constitutional. That is the reason I have a problem with this.
What he said in a tweet totally unrelated to his work is just freedom of speech. If his tweet was related to his work that is a different thing and valid.
