I congratulate anyone who doesnt pay taxes to the Fed.gov beast.
Yep, this non-story is fading quickly, just like all the others.
It was only meant to try to take Trump off his game Tuesday night.
Ironically, the focus on “The Proud Boys” is proof of that, they quickly moved away from the taxes and onto that.
Same here. I also congratulate all of those that have paid taxes who can squeeze back all of that they can. I’m on Social security right now and plan on quitting my reasonably lucrative job at the end of next year. But If I can get myself laid off before that, EXCELLENT. You can collect SS AND unemployment at the same time as long as you are looking for work.
Since my commute involves about $800 per month in expenses and 3 hours a day devoted to commuting, I’d be happy to take a bit of a loss via the lower unemployment income.
And then the proud boys got outed for who they REALLY are:
“It was done by someone who knows hell-all about tax returns...”
Say what? A quick Bing search finds nothing for the term “hell-all”, but in British slang “damn-all” (or sometimes “bugger-all” or “f****-all”) means “nothing”.
I know it won’t happen, but I think the NYT should not be able to knowingly receive stolen property like Trump’s tax returns.
So, how did the NY Sun get the tax returns of the NY Times?
I had a liberal tax preparer/consultant with a degree in economics complain to me that because of President Trumps tax cut she had to pay taxes on April 15th.
My response, “You under withheld. How conservative of you.”
>>”...this non-story is fading quickly...<<
When I saw this post I was thinking the exact same thing. This story bit the dust in record time considering how all we have heard for years is Trump’s Tax Returns must be public.
The Proud Boys was a coordinated attack by Wallace and Biden. Biden knew the question was coming and had a pile on attack planned. They both knew President Trump has condemned White Supremacist groups, but wanted to make it appear like he hadn’t.
I congratulate anyone who doesnt pay taxes to the Fed.gov beast.
Im so radical I believe there should be a maximum tax cut off. I dont care how much money you make, no one should have to pay 10s of millions of any kind of tax.
I still don’t beleive the NY Times has the real tax returns.
Didn’t Trump deny them. Didn’t I read that he actually paid over $1 million in 2016 and over $4 million in 2017 when the NY SLimes was claiming he paid only $750.
“I congratulate anyone who doesnt pay taxes to the Fed.gov beast.”
If you can legally beat the system, more power to you. If it is such a bad thing, change the law.
Bfl...I have a great cartoon to post later On this...:)
The quotation from Judge Learned Hand at the close of this story says it best:
“As Judge Learned Hand of the Second United States Circuit put it back in 1934, Any one may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which will best pay the Treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase ones taxes.”
And I remember being told, rich folks give a lively hood to thousands of lawyers and accountants to keep from paying taxes according to the exact laws that Congress passes.
I agree with your sentiment, but actually, it is NOT "beating the system", it is COMPLYING with the Tax Code as written!
Flat Tax, anyone!
I still dont believe the NY Times has the real tax returns.
From the original article, the New York Times was careful to say that they had tax DATA, not the returns themselves. Which means the NYT was guessing.
“Flat Tax, anyone!”
I’m all for it.
I don't get to post this one often...so I am always looking for an opening!
