A coalition of 11 governors, including Govs. Jay Inslee (WA), Kate Brown (OR), Gavin Newsom (CA), Phil Murphy (NJ), Gretchen Whitmer (MI), Tony Evers (WI), Tim Walz (MN), Ralph Northam (VA), John Carney (DE), Steve Sisolak (NV) and Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM), released a joint statement today.
We do not take for granted the sacred right of every American to cast a vote, and to have that vote counted, in the presidential election held every four years. It is a right that is foundational to our democracy and essential to the continuation of our constitutional system of government something to be cherished, revered and defended by elected leaders at all levels.
Any efforts to throw out ballots or refuse a peaceful transfer of power are nothing less than an assault on American democracy. There is absolutely no excuse for promoting the intimidation or harassment of voters. These are all blatant attempts to deny our constituents the right to have their voices heard, as guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution, and to know the will of the people will be carried out.
As governors, it is our solemn duty to protect the people of our states. Today, we affirm that all votes cast in the upcoming election will be counted and that democracy will be delivered in this election. That means all valid ballots cast in accordance with state and local laws must be counted, and that all states must properly appoint electors in accordance with the vote. We will not allow anyone to willfully corrupt the democratic process by delegitimizing the outcome or appointing fraudulent electors against the will of the voters.

And if the outcome of this election means the end of a presidency, he must leave office period."

What a load of utter horses**t.
Notice that Tommie the Commie Wolf (D-PA) is conspicuously absent.
The Luzerne County early frauding must have spooked him but good.
All Alinskiite antiConstitutional tyrants, true fascists.
I noticed that as well.
“We do not take for granted the sacred right of every American to cast a vote, and to have that vote counted”
How long should we wait to be sure every vote is counted? 4 years? After all, it’s sacred.
Especially the ones from illegals and dead people!
Count every vote!
Illegals vote in Oregon....
Yeah right. What do liberals know about telling the truth?
Do they expect us to believe them?
Here in Washington state, I’m pretty sure if Trump is winning in the rest of the state, the King County Election Office (corrupt as all get-out) will have something to say. They were the ones who single-handedly changed the winner of the governor’s race in 2004. Count on seeing more ‘found votes’ out of them after Nov. 3rd....especially in our governor’s race.
Bush v. Gore Supreme Court decision in 2000 that stopped the Florida recount clearly stated that courts do not have the authority to write election laws...that it is specifically the job of State Legislatures to write those laws. Governors have to sign such laws. Have the State Legislatures in these 10 states passed Bills outlining how all ballots received will be treated, and which will be counted and rejected, and have those 10 Governors signed them into law?
I'd like those to be counted, too...
Inslee puff up his chest. Our Secretary of State is a Republican and is in charge of state elections. Also the majority of counties are run by Republican commissioners and county auditors. I don’t expect them to bow down to his fantasy.
I notice that Cuomo isn’t included either. They couldn’t get the June 23rd primary straight, nor are they capable of sending out absentee ballots to the right people. They just discovered that 100,000 people received absentee ballots with someone else’s names on them.
Where were they with Rossi vs. Gregoire?
If things get hanky with Inslee vs. Culp, what then?
If it gets close with the Presidential outcome, what then?
Not a one of those scumbags understand what a sacred anything is.
Should wash out their mouths with soap.
These governors will have to comply with their own state laws.
Unless the federal courts intervene...which is their most fervent hope.
They seem to be soliciting such intervention.
Nevertheless, if these decidedly blue states don’t appoint their electors on time, they won’t be counted.
The riots and the burning in the intervening weeks from election day to appointment of electors will be spectacular.
All votes legally cast should be counted.
All votes must be counted, whether or not cast by a registered voter who is a resident and a US citizen. If a person has cast multiple ballots, all of them must be counted.
Per Mark Levin, the legislature does not have to pass an election law to be signed by the governor. The US constitution vest the powers in the state legislature and does not give any power to the state executive or state court.
