And an utterly absurd interpretation - else everyone found guilty who pled innocent would have a perjury charge tacked on to their regular sentence.

No my assertion is not absurd at all. This is part of what is actually occurring. And no, the reversal as you put it, is seen in a different light. An initial plea is also not done under oath as is a guilty plea.

Flynn under oath twice pleaded guilty, also stated facts that supported the crime charged and also stated that he was not coerced in anyway(i.e., his son) to make the guilty plea -—all under oath. Fact.
