US military aren’t deployed against us. And don’t see us as the enemy. And actually I know soldiers who’ve done duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Do you know the first thing that happens when they shoot a civilian? They are taken into custody for an immediate investigation, the entire procedure comes from a presumption of wrong doing, and there’s no-union to back them.
If you think your doctor sucks you can get another. Can’t get a different cop if you think the one at your house is wound too tight.
We have a right to due process in this country and a presumption of innocence. Our laws our built to say NOBODY deserves it until they’ve gotten a trial.
Oh, bull crap. Some whack-job walks into a church and starts shooting people, as has happened recently, and you would apparently suggest that a cop should attempt to disarm the shooter (maybe use his notebook as a frisbee, to knock the gun out if his hand ;^), rather than deprive the shooter of a trial.
How about if one of the civilians in the church shoots the gunman - should he be charged with a crime, for depriving Mr. Whack Job of his constitutionally mandated legal proceedings? What if the civilian is a plumber, with a CCW - would that make all plumbers a "clear and present danger"? Or are you simply suggesting that gun owners represent a "clear and present danger"?
;^)
