It’s a COVID Casedemic, not a Pandemic

Fall is in the air, along with a distinct smell of panic among Democrats and the media. Leaves are turning yellow and orange as presidential opinion polls are slowly but inexorably shifting favorably toward President Trump, turning the electoral map a brighter shade of red to match the leaves. There is a chill in the morning air, especially among deep state corruptocrats waiting for the next report or indictment from the few in Washington D.C. committed to the rule of law.

The Chinese virus has been an effective club against Trump making America great again during the past year The first case arrived in Seattle, coincidentally or not, on the same day Jerry Nadler waddled with fellow Democrats from the House to the Senate delivering articles of impeachment.

Initially we heard about Wuhan virus deaths, Fox News ran a death tally as a side bar on the television screen just as business cable news provides a real time tally of the Dow average. As deaths peaked and declined, the DNC media pivoted to case counts, ignoring deaths and hospitalizations.

We later found out that deaths were over counted, with health authorities making no distinction between dying “with” or “from” COVID. George Floyd would be classified as a COVID death since he tested positive at autopsy, despite his true cause of death being a fentanyl overdose. Gunshot deaths and alcohol poisonings were counted as Chinese virus deaths simply because of a positive test. The CDC recently revealed that only 6 percent of COVID deaths were solely from the virus, without confounding comorbidities that may have contributed to but not necessarily caused death.

About 80% of the US Covid dead were probably Democrats.

Democratic masterminds know Joe is going to need every vote his base could provide.

So, for what this covid-19 “pandemic” actually amounted to, they all but killed a good part of our economy? Even after all this is over...if it ever is...some part of the public will be going for the masks & hand sanitizer every time some official says “BOO!” & the sun goes under a cloud.

It’s simple — COVID is not a pandemic because it’s not a serious disease, i.e., one with a high incidence of hospitalization and death.

It was no coincidence that the global economic meltdown of 2008 happened on the heels of Democrats re-taking the House in 2007. That led in turn to the election of the crypto-Muslim “clean” half negro. It’s been my opinion from the start that this “Panic-demic”, which even many of my Conservative friends in the medical professions bought into hook, line, and sinker, is a replay of that strategy.

bully for them; just as long as they don’t expect me to do so as well...next time the ‘bosses’ order me to mask up they’ll have to physically place it on me...

My guess is that this morphs from COVID to viruses in general, and a certain percentage keeps the mask on... this winter and maybe forever. It looks to become a virtue statement for Climate Change, pollution, germs, etc. It shows that you are SERIOUS about these things.

I’m finding I don’t want to be around these mask wearing folks in general. I just feel unease being reminded constantly about it. I don’t want to go ‘shopping’ either.

What must happen, if we are to stop this, is to make mask wearing a negative thing, something Karen would rather not do. Right now, she’s got a large portion of the population patting her on the back for being so concerned... it’s got to stop.

From the article:

“The CDC recently revealed that only 6 percent of COVID deaths were solely from the virus, without confounding comorbidities that may have contributed to but not necessarily caused death.”

That’s a flawed methodology because it only counts those who were otherwise in perfect health when they died OF COVID. If I have both COVID and skin cancer and I die of lung failure, my death was clearly caused by COVID, not the skin cancer.

So your feelings take precedence over the consensus of the scientific community? You sound like a liberal insisting that there are more two genders.

What must happen, if we are to stop this, is to make mask wearing a negative thing

Go ahead. I'm still going to prioritize my health and that of my family over popularity contests on FR.

Oops, first quote from you should be:

With somewhere between 209,000 and 250,000 dead at only 1/6th of the way to the herd immunity threshold, I’d hate to see what you’d consider to be a “serious disease”.

"What must happen, if we are to stop this, is to make mask wearing a negative thing"

How about if you make your own decisions about what's best for your own health and I make my own decisions about what's best for my own health and we just get rid of the meddling government mandates that take the decision away? When you try to make others' health choices a "negative thing", you're every bit as much the Karen as the mask-wearing person yelling at those who choose not to wear a mask.

If you want to be left alone, leave OTHER people alone.

That’s fair, and I don’t want to impose on anyone. That’s why, for the most part, I’m staying home for a couple of months.

I guess what I’m trying to say, is that the social world of orchestras, art galleries and the performance arts in general are in big trouble. Same as with movie theaters, the public has to be care-free to enjoy these things.

That will happen on its own pretty soon. By the end of this year, we’ll have multiple safe and effective vaccines approved and probably around 100 million doses available. When the numbers drop sharply with no concerns of a second wave, life will start to return to normal.

I am married to a Taiwanese. There's no debate over there about whether masks work; many East Asian countries have masked up since Day 1 of this pandemic because they learned their lesson with SARS. Notice Taiwan has 22 cases and 0.3 deaths per million compared to the US's 22,219 cases and 633 deaths per million. So yeah I'm going to go with the science on this one.

You say "bitching". I say "politely requesting that you not become a vector for infectious disease and an obstacle in reopening businesses safely."
