I like Mr. Schlicter. That being said, I have a bit of a problem with one of his suggestions. Not that it's bad, but that it may not be possible. The money quote is this...

Your nice city councilman who is kind and gentle and sort of squishy? He cut the ribbon at the petting zoo and send you emails about a library book drive? Yeah, he needs to go in favor of the bomb-thrower who wants to buy the cops a new armored personnel carrier. No Democrats, not ever. No soft Republicans, not ever. Only harsh conservatives who loudly live the dogma. Elect conservawoke candidates who understand the threat, and who savor the opportunity to use their political power to harm the left in every way they can.

Understand that I like what he's saying. It makes sense. I want to see that. There's just one problem: Where are they?

Where are the 'conservawoke' (I like that) candidates that aren't squishy and soft? Why don't we see them?

I think it's because those who think like that don't want to get involved in the process. They're too busy working and making a life for themselves and/or their families. Not to mention that the political process takes a lot out of a person, especially going against Democrats as they are now.

How many people have lived such clean, spotless lives that there is literally NOTHING an opponent could wave in front of the public to demean and embarrass that candidate? With the cutthroat political climate out there, you know that a Dem candidate and their staff will actively search for something to publicly denigrate their opponent. (Speaking for myself, there are things in my past that I don't want waved around in front of people. I've done some stupid stuff in my past...who hasn't?)

Believe me- I want to see those 'bomb throwers' out there, cleaning up the crap that's been foisted on us for decades. I know they're out there. But the process of getting them from where they are, through the political mine field, and into the places where they'll do the most good...that's the biggest hurdle.

sadly, its going to take a lot to get me out of my 'comfort zone' and gamble to possibly lose everything .. take my job, my savings, my freedoms and my rights, then I will be primed to go out and wreak havoc ▲ .
