I friend who is highly successful in real-estate loved it when she had to remain at home during the shut down. She was happy cooking and paying attention to homemaking work and catering to her husband....needless saying he loved it too!
I think women can do both...if they want to. There was an Orthodox Jewish woman who was Nobel winner a few years ago who had 7 or 8 kids, kept a Kosher kitchen, and still was able to win a Nobel for her scientific work!
However, everybody doesn’t have to do that. I think part-time work is nice because it keeps women plugged in (since the 1950s suburban housewife, who did nothing but recreational activities and drinking all day, is a model of what happens when women lose touch with the outside world). And remember that in the 19th and early 20th centuries, women worked like mad, either laboring on the farm with their husbands, keeping up a pre-technology house or supervising other people in doing it, and often working alongside their husband or another male relative in his business.
So there’s nothing wrong with working, but on the other hand, it shouldn’t be a “requirement,” and many women who have children at home would be much happier without it or at least doing less. But that means their husbands need to earn more in order to keep up the family. And some men don’t want to do that, so they want their wives to work more so they won’t have to...
Agreed and I also think you are right about the lost original “equality” even though as I said, women never lost their equal value in God’s sight, only their role because of her being deceived and rebelling.
I also agree that the Women’s Movement has taken women down the road of unhappiness, depression, and ruin.
It’s like a cat trying to be a dog. A cat is only happy by being what God made it - a cat. Likewise, a woman is made by God to care for the home and her family. She is happy in that role and miserable trying to be like the doggy dudes.
