President Trump has said the health of the American people is his primary concern when considering new FDA guidelines on a vaccine. On Wednesday, the President announced the White House may not approve tougher guidelines on the emergency use authorization of a coronavirus vaccine.
According to reports, the FDA was gearing up to announce the stricter standards ahead of the election. As part of the new guidelines, manufacturers seeking authorization would have to follow trial participants for at least two months after a second vaccine shot.
The new standards would also reportedly ask developers to identify a specific number of severe COVID-19 cases in patients who received a placebo in trials.
The move has allegedly been pursued in an effort to boost American confidence that an approved vaccine will be both safe and effective.
If the new FDA standards go through, it’s unlikely a new vaccine will be approved for use before the election.

If the Covid-19 is not bad as flu and the new infection/death numbers are dropping, why do we need a vaccine before election day?
It might be a good idea to have better standards.
My daughter’s fiancé is part of a vaccine study. He had his second shot last week. Both times he had mild flu symptoms following injection. So, we’re pretty sure he didn’t get the placebo.

Not sure what the present guideline is- article mentions a recommendation but doesn’t say.
The FDA is most likely in cahoots with the Soros/Gates/Fauxi vaccine development which is apparently way behind these three. They’re likely being bribed/bought off to push remdesivir. Always follow the money trail.
They’re not necessarily better if they are being covid-political.
Politics has infested COVID to such an extent that it is impossible to be sure about any of the important questions.
And many many mistakes are being made by all sorts of people fir all sorts of political reasons.
Personally, I think that waiving FDA safety standards given the current state of the COVID pandemic would be a serious mistake.
Same, I won’t be taking any new vaccine.
Some may decide their risks would be better if they do. More power to them.
They’re not advocating the current standards, and Trump isn’t asking to waive them.
These people are advocating new standards. One that would delay EAU by, I believe, two months.
I’m not taking it anyway, but I don’t see any big advantage coming from a two month delay. Well, no medical advantage.

Because demonrats gin up irrational fears to do things like make democrats afraid to vote in person. It doesn’t matter if it works though because democrats think Trump is personallly making it personally in his toilet with pure mercury and puppy brains and other chemicals that turn people straight

Fully agree. But that’s not what’s happening here. They’ve met, or close to meeting, the standard FDA safety standards already. Now, the FDA is basically “moving the goal posts” to include tests outside of their standard protocol. Something stinks in FDAville, and it smells like Soros, Gates and/or Fauxi corruption.
Personally, it doesn’t matter to me as I don’t plan on taking any of em.
I do not think this is going to affect the Election outcome if it was delay.
Even if the vacine ended up killing people, Trump will still be re-elected, look at what takes over the goverment if Trump is not re-elected.

I think he is letting the fda do the heavy lifting here.
he isn’t stupid at all. he knows these vaccines are completely untested as far as mid- and long-term side effects, and those can be extremely serious.
so promise a vaccine asap, and let the bureaucracy put on the brakes, and blame them.
