Agreed. Senator Paul Wellstone died 11 days before the election. The Dems replaced him on the ballot with Walter Mondale. Jesse Ventura appointed someone to finish Wellstone's term, and Republican Norm Coleman was elected to that seat, then had the seat stolen from him by Al Franken by 312 votes.
