A new study has found minimal evidence that the novel coronavirus is transferring inside K-12 school buildings despite reports of students and faculty across the country contracting the disease.
Brown University researchers collaborated with school administrators and released data Wednesday from a new National COVID-19 School Response Data Dashboard.
COVID-19 cases recorded in the dashboard show a relatively small degree of spread among staff and students. The study looked at data collected from more than 550 schools across 46 states over a two-week period starting Aug. 31, with more than 300 schools maintaining some level of in-person classes.
Researchers found 0.23 percent of students had confirmed or suspected cases of the virus, while the rate among educators was 0.51 percent. The rates for confirmed cases were lower at 0.076 for students and 0.15 for teachers. The data included those for public and private schools, with many of the schools located in smaller communities.

Here’s an interesting point to ponder -
The teachers (aka - teachers union) cried that reopening schools would mean children would act as carriers to infect vulnerable teachers... “woe is us”...
Yet here in Arkansas, what has ACTUALLY happened - teachers are the ones bringing it into the schools and infecting and/or causing quarantines... The same teachers who bemoaned the dangers of being around children that might infect them, are the ones actually engaging in contact that is bringing COVID in...
There was an article a few weeks back that said something like “Six Teachers die from COVID-19”
It was six teachers in five states from disparate states in the Union, but they made it sound like it was happening in a cluster from a school system that opened.
The big lie continues.
My high school senior is missing his senior year. His district plans 100% remote until Jan, and then only 2 days of in person teaching after that. The rest will be “independent learning” and no teaching. So he will have to learn Stats and Pre Algebra with 2 days of teaching, come Jan.
And this is even after Newsom will allow full reopening in our county 3 weeks from now (after we’ve reached the “red” level that’s expected by next week, and stay there 2 weeks). The teachers are refusing to come back full time.
At least my daughter’s private HS plans to return to full time in person the minute the county and state allow it—I’m thinking Oct 19th.
The COVID panic/reaction is the biggest scam/lie/fraud ever perpetrated on the people, and not just in the US, but around the entire world.
It comes in a close second “climate change/global warming”.
My oldest missed the last half of her senior year, and is now living on her college campus with absolutely draconian restrictions. My other daughters (HS senior and junior) are 100% online but “supposed” to start at least partial in-person classes by late Oct. This whole scam absolutely ENRAGES me.
There are teachers in the building, but apparently the main interaction with the students is to remind them of the restrictions.
Yep, the crime here is not opening the schools.
