The Justice Department on Monday refused a request from Rep. Jerrold Nadler, the House Judiciary Committee chairman, for top officials to testify on several issues, citing a recent appearance by Attorney General William Barr that the letter called an attempt by committee members to air grievances.
The letter, which was signed by Assistant Attorney General Stephen E. I like this.
No need to read ‘between the lines’ here.
Congress has responsibility and authority to conduct oversight. They abused that power and conducted political theater instead. DOJ has no obligation to play a role in Nadler’s little show. It does not constitute oversight.
Same with any attempt to impeach Barr or Trump. The entire Repubican party, legislative and executive branches, should refuse to answer any requests or attend any proceedings.
Nadler, the “Moby Dick” of New York City. Ahab, get your harpoon ready when you hear the cry, “There he blows”.
I love it. The Congressional RATS getting repeatedly outplayed by Trump and his appointees. All the DemocRATS bluster and threats intended to intimidate Trump and Senate Republicans from moving rapidly to replace Justice Ginsberg have failed. Now this go to hell rebuff of Nadler is wonderful to see. Keep it up guys!
I watched the recording of Barrs appearance. Thats an accurate summary.
Exactly! For them, it's themselves and Democrats first, country and its citizens a fair piece down the road from there.
“Airing of grievances”? Well, it’s getting closer to Festivus.
I haven’t seen the story yet of the Durham report, due yesterday.
I expected to see the report or a resignation at the end of yesterday.
