Governor Kate Brown saluted the ad-hoc brigades of Molalla at a news conference on Thursday, saying fire commanders had acknowledged the "real heroes" as being the "local community members, the majority of them volunteers, who worked tirelessly to save their community."

I'm surprised she didn't condemn them for taking matters into their own hands.

I saw a similar report in the CanbyFirst (another local paper.) Reporter said they called themselves the “redneck crew.” I am also in Clackamas County and this is the kind of folks you find out here.
