If she supports Senate confirmation, Trumps support might be able to eke this one out for her. If she doesn’t, she’s on her own and most likely toast.

Every poll produced everywhere shows Democrats winning every single seat. But Collins is stupid and worthless enough to lose.

It was declassified around 2001-2 as the CG of the JFK center at Fort Bragg read the Presidential Unit Citation to my friends and awarded it to those who survived and were there. I did not go.

Maine used to be reliably Republican. From 1916 to 1988 they voted Republican in all but two elections. Even when FDR was running, they stuck with the Republican candidate. But ever since 1992, they have gone blue every time. Can we blame this on the Clintons?

I dated a girl from Massachusetts in the 70s - everyone in the state was a Democrat and they all had vacation properties in Maine.
Maybe they all retired there and turned the place Democrat?
Kind of like Californians turning Colorado Democrat?

Still...thank you for what you did back then.

Susan Collins wrote an extremely cogent summary explaining her view of the Kavanaugh debacle and the reason she voted to confirm his nomination. It is normal here to take potshots at her, so I recommend to all that they take the time to read her defense of her vote. Yes, it may cost her this election, since Maine is less Republican than it used to be. But I hope she wins given the alternative. I've said before and I'll say it again, the Republican party made an error when it decided to make abortion the litmus test of a candidate. That is what made Independents the deciders of elections. They are former Republicans who parted ways with the party on this issue. And it's divided this nation in a way I'd never imagined. This next seat on the SC, which the destructive RBG engineered through her refusal to retire before this election, and die somehow before it, is going to cause an eruption of violence that is going to make everything before seem child's play.

It’s the major issue tying blue collar workers to the party of the donor class. What has split upper middle-income independents from the GOP is tax cuts. Too many tax cuts have made them complacent. The cure is Democrat majorities and control of the White House for a decade or more. When Democrats have hiked personal income taxes to 40%, they will return to the GOP.

Because when a Republican (RINO in this case) does not present a large difference between themselves and a Democrat, the Democrat wins. Republicans dont want any more RINOS. Your analysis is a bit off - she normally gets close to 70% of the vote. She is being excoriated in this race for supporting tax reform and voting to confirm Kavanaugh. The ads are attacking her as a "Trump stooge", etc.
To: Zhang Fei
Respectfully, I have to reassert my premise and disagree with yours.
