Ginsburg opposed the idea of packing the court for good reason: she knew where it would inevitably end: a U.S. Supreme Court with 20,000+ members after several decades of the two parties playing the same game over and over again.

The Senate then had 96 members (4 Senators belonged to other parties). The House had 435 members (including 333 Democrats and 13 from other parties). Even with such an overwhelming majority, the Democrats resisted tampering with the size of the Court. But don’t expect any restraint in 2021 if they have a majority in the Senate and a Democrat in the White House.
What exactly is illegitimate about a president putting justices on scotus?
I admit i hated all of obama and clintons picks, but never have i said they didnt have the legal ability to do it.
