Need to fill the position before the election. It woud really take the wind out of the Left's sails and make them suicidal. Most will not bother voting.

If the GOP delays, it will give the Left a rallying call to get out the vote.

Exactly what I was thinking! This reminds me a lot of what happened when the Supreme Court allowed Obamacare to be law. At first I thought it would be a rallying cry for us conservatives but looking back I believe it demoralized our base (along with Romney’s weak performance late in the campaign). With a WIN like this, our side will be energized more than ever (sort of like winning the NFC/AFC Championships heading towards the Super Bowl) while “some” on the other side will be so deflated that many will see it almost pointless to continue to resist. There won’t be enough of a “revenge” vote on their side to over come their deflated votes. My opinion but I’m praying for miracles these days!
