Sudan overthrew their long time Islamist dictator in April 2019. The have him in jail, facing a potential death sentence.
Their economy is in crisis, since South.Sudan seceded with 80% of the oil.
They desperately need a big new opportunity. They are right across the Red Sea from Mecca, if the Saudis get on board, and they share a long border with Egypt, the biggest regional economy, and one that already has peace with Israel.
Sudan is geographically huge - just the Darfur region alone was bigger than France.
WHAT states, stupid?
