During a town hall on CNN on Thursday, 2020 Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden stated that he would have the authority as president to have a mask mandate on federal property and land and he will institute one, which could come with a fine for noncompliance. Biden also stated that he would prefer to see state governors have mask mandates, and would encourage them to have state mask mandates, but he can’t do one nationally. Biden said, “I cannot mandate people wearing masks. … I would call every governor in the country into the White House, say, you should be putting mandates out. And if they don’t, I’d call the mayors in their towns, in their cities and say, put out mandates.”

Notice how the left is not preparing for “After Covid-19”? They are assuming that it stays with us for a long time, and that is their wish. They don’t want to let go of the control they have over us - they arrest us, they shame us, they fine us, they prevent us from traveling. Once they put the shackles on us, they don’t want to remove them.

Meanwhile, executives ignoring clear federal law are free along with their enabled illegal aliens, while officially declaring “sanctuary”.

To be fair, there is no "after Covid-19", just as there is no "after pneumonia" or "after malaria". Unless something remarkable happens, that virus strain will be a part of the annual flu season every year, just like the 30 other strains that we always generalize as "the flu". We have never singled one out before, but the Democrat needed a mass panic this year for political gain.

So backpackers in the national parks and national forests will have to wear masks while hiking on a trail miles from any other human beings? It isn’t even healthy to do so, and how would it be enforced? Station official government snitchers every few hundred yards on the trails?
Those pictures capture exactly my take on the whole thing. i.e. it is pure theater.
They are spending all this news cycle time to discuss a problem that doesn’t exist and solutions what have no impact.

Masks or face coverings have been required in many places for quit some time.
Seems to me they don’t work.
Why not completely shut down the economy, mandate everyone stay at home, not leave their yards and have the military deliver food and toilet paper.
Now, that would rid us of this scourge in what? 6-8 weeks?
