Hundreds came to Town Hall Park in Lower Saucon Township on Thursday to see the St. Louis couple who attained celebrity after a confrontation with protesters outside their home. Some came to stand alongside them, bearing arms & backing calls for President Trumps reelection.
McCloskey said the firestorm that followed made the couple afraid to leave their home. Then the White House reached out, offering security.
The incident outside the McCloskeys' house resulted in trespassing citations for nine protesters & a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon for both Mark & Patricia McCloskey.
McCloskey said the charge against his wife was especially drummed up. He said the weapon she pointed was not a working gun & claimed someone in law enforcement tampered with it to make it appear to be.
What youre facing in this election is a choice between rule of law or rule by mob, who wont stop at anything, even faking evidence to charge honest citizens who did nothing more than defend themselves.
The McCloskeys. both lawyers, were originally supposed to speak at Palmer Townships Fairview Park. But the township denied the event request because the rally was expected to draw more than 250 people, violating Gov. Wolfs cap on gatherings.
Palmers decision, Northampton County Republican Chairwoman Lee Snover said, was proof positive that the suburbs are the next target of the cancel culture movement.
My message to the suburbs is that you stand for law and order & not allow our sacred God-given rights to be trampled upon by mob rule. Vote for law and order whether by mail or at the [polls]," she said.
Matthew Munsey, chairman of the Northampton County Democratic Committee, dismissed the rhetoric, pointing out that the GOPs strategy is ginning up false fear" as a way to divide communities.

I’ve done some work out that way. In ABE territory.
Most I met were Republicans, but my work wasn’t in the “downtown” areas.
I-78 and SR-22 are good places to die...
You are absolutely right. We avoided 78 & 22 to get to the park.
PA ping
Good for the McCloskey’s for taking a stand. They didn’t ask to be in the national spotlight, but glad to see they are trying to warn others.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
There were several good comments on other threads yesterday. Basically saying, the Democrats don’t have to repeal the 2nd Amendment to take guns away from people.
They will just make any sort of (justifiable) self-defense, or even just trying to protect yourself without firing a shot, into a felony charge. They’re already doing this with Kyle Rittenhouse, the McCloskeys, and a man who brandished a rifle out of window when a mob was all over his lawn.
These people will lose everything in their fight for justice — which will also be a lost cause & they will be jailed for a long time. Set enough examples and many people will think twice about bringing out that gun.
It’s the same as many cops now being afraid to act in certain situations, or struggling businesses afraid to reopen because then they really will lose everything.
You’re right. We are this close (I’m holding my fingers about one inch apart) from losing our Constitutional rights. You could make a case we already have lost many of our rights (just try telling the truth about BLM in many places).
Pennsylvanians love their guns. I was considering taking a job with GE in PA and when I read their Policies I noticed that the first day of hunting is a holiday there. It made me feel good.
War is coming.
It’s still a constant fight to keep them. Figuratively, so far.
