My degree is in social work-and I don’t recall preventing violence in the general public as part of my education and training-only how to talk with, disarm etc agitated mentally ill people in a psych facility setting-and in my career as a workers comp case manager, I’ve never had to even deal with that. If the requirements for a degree in social work now include qualifying as a violence interrupter, I haven’t heard about it-but if true, it makes my degree even more worthless than it was in the 1st place...

Shortly there will be a problem employing 911 operators. As soon as they send in a social worker that gets shot or beaten, whose going to bear the responsibility for what happened? The council is going to blame the operator that made the decision to send in what the counsel provided, probably saying the operator misjudged the situation. Only problem is, is they defund and break up the police, the only thing available will be toast. And if enough of them get killed, who will take the social workers’ jobs? It just going to keep getting worse as the dominoes fall.
