In 2017, the liberal Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University found that 93 percent of CNN's coverage of the Trump administration was negative. The center found similarly negative Trump coverage at other major news outlets.
The election year 2020 has only accelerated that asymmetrical bias -- to the point that major newspapers and network and cable news organizations are now fused with the Joe Biden campaign.
Sometimes stories are covered only in terms of political agendas. Take COVID-19.
The media assure us that the Trump administration's handling of the pandemic has been a disaster. But their conclusions are not supported by any evidence.
In the United States, the coronavirus death rate per million people is similar to, or lower than, most major European countries except Germany
When the virus was at its worst, before the partisan campaign of this election year heated up, the governors in our four largest states had only compliments for the Trump administration.
Democrats Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gavin Newsom of California and Republicans Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida effusively praised the administration's cooperation with their own frontline efforts.
The most recent conclusions of impartial heads of federal agencies responsible for coordinating national and state policies are about the same.
Dr. Deborah Birx (adviser to both the Obama and Trump administrations on responses to infectious diseases), Dr. Anthony Fauci (director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) and Dr. Scott Gottlieb (former head of the Food and Drug Administration) have not faulted the Trump administration's overall COVID-19 response.

I SHUDDA READ AHEAD!
The problem with fake corrupt news is that it might influence 0.5% of the population, normally not a concern but with close races it is.
Anyone check out this new NewsNation network?
Is it any good?
As Mika recently said its OUR JOB (journalists) to tell the people what to think!.
And has been for quite some time.
The problem with this assertion is that most sites, aggregators like this one, and mainstream media sites, publish as news what in former years was considered to be opinion. For example, Editorials are peoples’ opinions, yet they are presented as news articles. Almost 100% of what is on CNN, FOX, and other “news” sites are actually opinion shows. The anchor sits there and runs a clip of some video and then adds his\her own commentary. About the only thing that is real news in these programs is when they have someone like Trump that they are interviewing, and even in those cases they usually pick and choose what is presented, without context, with the intent of swaying opinions in a certain direction.
My awareness of this occurred when the Today Show played the 911 recording from the Trayvon Martin \ George Zimmerman confrontation. Seemed believable when it first came out but about two weeks later the police department released the full recording and you could see (hear) that NBC manipulated the context of the recording to show George Zimmerman as racially motivated - he wasn’t. He was responding to a direct question from the 911 operator about the appearance of the suspicious individual he was calling about. Clearly, pushing an agenda and not the truth.
I asked my father, who is 30 years older than me, when he first realized that the “news” was just propaganda that was being pushed by the news organizations. He said he realized it when he watched the OJ Simpson trial every day for the entire length of the trial. He said that anyone who watched it would come to the conclusion that there was CERTAINLY reasonable doubt as to his guilt - which meant he couldn’t be punished. Yet the media portrayed it as if every finding was that he was guilty, and it started from day one of the televised trial so it led him to believe there was an agenda being pushed.
The media assure us...
Victor is now clambering onboard the UK grammar train perversion. The media is a plural, not an it.
I are going to the store.
Lets just continue the perversion the UK has started.
That would definitely be a good idea. The Telecoms and Disney should be forced to divest themselves of the networks.
Also, Big Tech needs to be broken up by anti-trust actions brought by the DOJ.
My dad made it crystal clear to me that the “news” was just leftist propaganda as far back as Walter Cronkite....that was when I was a kid in the late 70s and early 80s. He knew Dan Rather was such a hack that if he ever saw him on the screen, he would loudly proclaim “Get that Asshole off”....much to my mother’s chagrin at hearing cursing. LOL!
No surprise.. Watch the evening news. You are not being informed, you are being programmed.
Add up the ‘might’, ‘could’, should, maybe, possibly and ‘studies have shown’, plus other fuzzy words to see the percentage of editorializing going on.
Language is fluid.
Every ‘rule’ we now claim started as a ‘perversion’ of the language somewhere.
China is increasingly being ostracized by much of the world.
The U.S. has cut its carbon emissions, often at a rate superior to those nations still adhering to the Paris climate accord targets.
Cross-border illegal immigration has been reduced, according to many metrics.
ISIS was bombed into near dissolution. Moderate regimes in the Middle East are ascendant; radical cliques like Hamas and al-Qaeda are not.
More NATO members are meeting their commitments. The alliances aggregate defense investments are way up.
Is any of that considered news? Not really.
But, but, but..... President Trump supposedly, allegedly, disrespected our troops. And Bob Woodward has a new book out!
The news as we once understood it is dead.
Forty-six days to Election Day. It is only going to get worse.
Before 2016, the MSM could pose as objective and fair-minded, rather than as propagandists. Trump took that away from them. No wonder they’re so cross.
I was on to them in the 1970s - you just came late to the party
Hey, allow me my foolish youth.
Point I was making was that they used to make believe they were informing us. Now they’re open about their manipulations, noble cowboys steering the ignorant herd. Just ask them.
