‘Maskless flash mob’ marches through Target shouting ‘Take off that mask’

A rowdy group of anti-maskers marched through a Target in Florida and shouted at other shoppers to “Take off that mask,” viral video shows.

Footage on Twitter Tuesday showed the crowd parading around the aisles of the store — located in Ft. Lauderdale, according to HuffPost — and disregarding the store’s face mask requirement as one of them exclaims, “We’re not going to take it anymore!”

“Anti-maskers in Florida invade a Target,” wrote a user who shared the video, which has received more than 6.6 million views as of Wednesday afternoon.

Another video posted to YouTube showed the same group singing and dancing to the Twisted Sister song “We’re Not Going to Take It,” as other customers filmed the wild encounter on their phones.

“In celebration of Burn Your Mask Day we decided to spread some freedom dust over the shoppers and employees of Target!” user Chris Nelson wrote in the description of “Maskless Flash Mob at Target!”

How about no? I’m keeping my mask on, and no number of anti-mask zealots is going to pressure me into taking it off. I don’t get in someone’s face if s/he isn’t wearing a mask. All I ask is that the anti-maskers extend me the same courtesy.

Unless you’re wearing an N19 mask (and even then...), all you’re doing with your mask is creating a thick cluster of bacteria and virus at the place on the mask where your mouth is.

Non-conforming masks are, in that way, worse than no mask: you’re actually collecting the very thing you’re trying to avoid. It’s the equivalent of trying to stop mosquitoes with a chain link fence. And having that fence in a swamp.

Proponents will tell you that your mask is saving others (by ‘confining your spittle’ etc). The analogy given was that “if everyone is wearing blue jeans people who are prone to peeing in public won’t get theirs on you”. Thanks, Facebook.

Of course that analogy is flawed, when you consider where masks and blue jeans are actually placed on the human body, and that pee goes one direction out, and breathing goes in and out.

Applying logic and observation to information that is available should raise your antenna as to (at the very least) the possibility that public figures may be lying to you**. Because you’re here on this site, you must at least be open to that possibility.

But nobody is forcing you to wear a mask. However, you don’t have a right to violate store policies, either. Shop elsewhere. Order your stuff online (that’s easier for most things, anyway).

And wearing a second diaper, even if it’s on your face, must be challenging for you, but you’ll have to make adjustments like everybody else.

People bleating about their imaginary right to spread disease are the same folks that insist *they* are good to drive after a night at the bar. Exactly the same folks. Imagine - driving home drunk and maybe you don’t get into an accident yourself, but some percentage of the people you drive by become drunk, too, with the same ability to make even more people drunk. Looking at it that way, I guess people that refuse to wear masks are perhaps worse than drunk drivers, since drunkenness isn’t actually infectious. But keep on bleating, that right actually exists.

This is a bogus distortion of facts. For one, while the virus is .12 microns, it lives on much larger droplets of water or mucous. You don’t have little naked virons flying around on their little virus wings. Second, the smoke and fire particulates come in a range of sizes and some of them are going to get through a cloth mask. They do NOT rely on much larger water or mucous droplets for transport. They are also typically far more concentrated on the other side of your mask if you can smell them. It’s a matter of statistics. And no matter how concentrated, you can’t smell CCP-19.

Got a question - if you can smell smoke, do you deem masks futile and give up on them, exposing yourself to the higher concentrations in the unfiltered air?

My ‘favorite’ non favorite is/was the pay me and I will name a star after you.

I still contend that the ‘test case’ for the masks was when they told us that plastic was bad and paper was worse when it came to grocery bags.

Then each store etc came out with their own variety of bags, even insulated and the idea was to bring them with you every time and the store wouldn’t need to use paper or plastic.

Then once the sky started falling around the beerflu, ‘they’ deemed that the bring your own bag to the store was unsanitary so it was determined to leave them home.

Without a mere whimper NOBODY marched on the ‘palace gates’ demanding a refund for the ‘keep em bags’ SO
‘they’ mandated face masks on one hand while the other was telling us they weren’t effective and the ‘chicken littles’ took over and now we all are expected to wear a mask.

I will wear a mask when I get my beerflu shot, which will occur right after I get my FIRST (knowing) FLu Shot.

This hoax should have run its course but now that ‘they’ have designer masks and shields and markings on the floor, this Schiff isn’t going to go away easily.

As to the masks, shields, marks on the floor etc instead of releasing the prisoners they should have test cased those methods on prisoners.

IF you can’t control PRISONERS, how do they expect to control people in Walmart...

If they don’t, it likely will be because of people that thought their right to infect others was being infringed and who therefore refused to wear a mask.

If people had just masked up for a few weeks or stayed quarantined at the beginning, instead of treating it like a joke or infringement of imaginary rights and displaying their weapons-grade ODD for all to see, there wouldn’t be a need for masks now. We wouldn’t be having 1,000 deaths per day (slightly outpacing the average deaths-per-day from the Spanish Flu and all the other flus combined *100 years ago* when we had much worse medical capabilities). And the vaccine that so many fear might never be needed, much less mandatory, which is the way it looks like it might go. Especially in communist Canada where you apparently live for some reason.

This is one of those ridiculous claims that is only true to those that want it to be true. First, where do you suppose that stuff inside the mask came from? It came out of your face. What ever it is, it’s all yours. Or, if you are in the “masks are ineffective” camp (which is largely composed of the same science- and logic-challenged constituency), it’s doing the opposite of keeping your own germs inside your bubble - it’s not stopping them because the masks don’t work, right? So on the one hand, masks are doing their job - keeping your filth away from others - and on the other, they are not keeping your filth close to you.

Why people think it is logical to risk contracting or spreading a deadly disease out of fear of what ever they might already have they might catch from themselves escapes me. Perhaps you can explain it.
