Sugar republic.
Very pleasant island.
Why do I get the sneaky suspicion that shootings will go up in Barbados?
Tourism Republic.
Cuban takeover opportunity
We went there in 2015 had a pretty good time
things seem to be running pretty well there

the Atlantic side its really rough in the Caribbean so its like a bath
Its quite an interesting island being so far out to the east in the Atlantic in terms of its location in the Caribbean

Fake news, the pm has said Barbados said it intended to become a republic by November 2021. The move requires a two-thirds majority in parliament,
So, let’s wait and see the results of the vote
It won’t make a difference.
Queen Elizabeth is the Queen of Barbados in the Barbadian legal system.
In reality the Queen has no power. The head of state is appointed on advice from the prime minister https://web.archive.org/web/20171227224958/http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/114409/dame-sandra-mason-governor.
This is no different than Canada.
Rum Republic. Mount Gay Rum. Great golden cane nectar!
They never do them by referenda because they wouldn’t like the result. The Jamaican political class have been trying to make Jamaica a republic for years but given how much they are despised by ordinary Jamaicans and opinion polls suggesting many would rather have stayed a British colony they know the Jamaican public would use a referendum to explicitly reject a politicians republic.
Barbadoes is a great place. It is beautiful, the people are friendly, and they had a lot freedom. It seemed like all you needed to start a business was a couple of coolers (one for beer, one fo the food), and a grill.
Was there back in November. Had a fantastic, relaxing time.
If true, lets see how long before a) they regret it; b) Communists move in; c) the island becomes another third world s*thole; or d) all of the above.
In the case of Barbados and for Queen Elizabeth, you are 100% correct
Queen liz is a good Queen of Barbados.
Quite frankly any current realm with liz as Queen does not want to see her go - she is regal, she is impartial and she is honorable. Once she goes things may change, but not before
