The Chinese government intentionally manufactured and released the COVID-19 virus that led to mass shutdowns and deaths across the world, a top virologist and whistleblower told Fox News host Tucker Carlson Tuesday.
Carlson specifically asked Dr. Li-Meng Yan whether she believed the Chinese communist party released the virus "on purpose." "Yes, of course, it's intentionally," she responded on "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
Yan said more evidence would be released but pointed to her own high-ranking position at a World Health Organization reference lab as a reason to trust her allegation.
"I work[ed] in the WHO reference lab which is the top coronavirus lab in the world, in the University of Hong Kong. And the thing is I get deeply into such investigation in secret from the early beginning of this outbreak. I had my intelligence because I also get my own unit network in China, involved [in] the hospital ... also I work with the top corona[virus] virologist in the world," she said.
"So, together with my experience, I can tell you, this is created in the lab ... and also, it is spread to the world to make such damage."

I am beyond sick and tired of people saying there is evidence of something but saying that that evidence will be released later. To me it means there is none, which is too often born out by nothing ever released.

If there were undeniiable proof that such an allegation were true, doubt that the information would ever be releasd. If it were the lawsuits alone would effectively destroy the Chinese economy, create a worldwide economic contraction and depression , all of which would lead to a world war.IMHO there is little doubt that the Chinese are responsible for the creation of this horrible virus, but have to believe its release was accidental. Long term even if the Chinese are not held accountable, its hard to define how their economy has benefited from this catastophre.

From what I read in her paper yesterday there is no question the virus is synthetic. The modification to the spike protein could not have occurred through ‘evolution’. It was engineered.
Now if you look at the history, work began on the virus in 2012 and was completed by 2015. So why would it get released now ? I speculated on this at the beginning of the pandemic. One the one hand Trump was out there beating his chest about creating the greatest economy the world has ever known, while at the same time taking pleasure at the billions of dollars in tariffs he was levying on the Chicoms and bringing manufacturing back, and the effect it was having on the Chicom economy. You can only imagine what was going through the minds of the Chicom leadership as they watched his rallies.
Regardless of its origin, the Chinese likely figured that as a highly authoritarian regime they could control the virus damage in China much better than could most of their competition on the world stage. Among other things, this is one instance where the various powerful factions in China would generally work together, and have a lot of control of their people, while countries like the US and Brazil are deeply divided, and India and Mexico, for example, so far seem mostly helpless.

I agree with you.
I saw this interview, and one with the same woman before. Perhaps I’ve become suspicious of everything lately, but I didn’t buy the story as told.
The woman made a lot of declarative statements, but didn’t answer a single question directly - she just kept referring to upcoming articles - featuring, of course, herself.
I think Tucker got rolled on this one.
It seems to me that if they could modify something to successfully target humans, and deliberately released it, they would have done a better job at it. (Which doesn’t mean that they don’t have something in the works...)
The Chinese appear to be great opportunists: after the first few weeks of sensible caution by some of our politicians, many others of them have been destroying our economy and terrorizing us on their own. I don’t think the Chicoms allow themselves to miss an opportunity.
