Pennsylvania officials have directed counties not to discard mail-in ballots solely because an election official believes a signature doesnt match the one in the voters file.
The new guidance issued Monday prompted several organizations, including the Campaign Legal Center (CLC), to drop a lawsuit against the Pennsylvanias Department of State. The state now has a uniform process for verifying signatures instead of leaving it to the discretion of local officials.
Under the new guidance, voters will have the opportunity to fix issues with the signature on their ballots.
As a result of this case, Pennsylvania voters can cast their vote without fear that their ballot could be rejected solely because an election official who isnt trained in handwriting analysis thinks their signatures dont match. Voting should not be a penmanship test, Mark Gaber, director of trial litigation at the CLC, said in a statement.
Pennsylvania which is a key swing state in the presidential election passed a law in 2019 allowing for no-excuse mail-in voting. That, paired with the pandemic, has led to an increase in popularity for mail-in ballots.

The voter signature has never been a reliable safeguard. I barely sign my name the same way due to creeping arthritis, and sometimes my signature these days is not more than a scribble. The same holds true for voters with neurological disorders like Parkinson’s disease. The only true safeguard against voter fraud is not the signature, but a government issued photo ID.
Yeppers.
Take a valum Rose. Pennsylvania will be challenged for massive voter fraud. The SCOTUS will not be able to ignore the fraud!
“The signatures dont have to match. Trump probably just lost PA.”
Yup ... another method to steal the election.
And Repubs just sit around with the thumbs up their asses.
We’ll see the end of Republicans after this election.
Like I heard today on Rush’s show ...
- First they will pack the Supreme Court with 4 or 6 new judges.
- Then grant statehood to Puerto-Rico and Washington DC (4 new Rat Senators)
- Then open up the gates to every 3rd world hell hole.
We’er F*&%ing done.
It’s been over for more than one hundred years. Prepare.
Registering people how about you?!!!
Certainly this decision will head to the Supreme Court... no?
Did True the Vote one year. That was one of the important things. Loved doing it.
The fix has been in for a long time, FRiend. That is why when the smoke clears, in the end, it will be up to We, The People to reject or allow the Democrats attempt to steal this Election. Because they are for damn sure are going to give it their best shot. AS with our forefathers vs. the British. It is up to us and us alone. Whether we have the where with all to do it remains yet to be seen. The Democrats do not believe we do and they are betting their lives on it.
How about making it a legal tool to compare driver’s license signatures, credit card signatures, Social Security card signatures, and cancelled checks signatures for comparison of contested ballots?
You might even have a signed Voter registration card around the house for comparison.

How can it be a secret ballot if you have to sign it?
whose idea was it to put Mitt Romney’s niece in the leadership of the RNC? This is not going to be an election, it’s a coup; very well orchestrated, professional, thorough...
Objective standards:
1. Is the vote for a Democrat?
2. If yes: valid.
3. If no: discard.
Easy peasy.
No one here seems to understand what this means. Ballots with questionable signatures are not discarded but neither are they counted until the individual named on the ballot can verify he or she signed.
“Voting should not be a penmanship test”
I agree with that. But it means that mail-in voting is Unconstitutional.
Ditto to both paragraphs...
