A SCHOOL in Westchester, New York, has come under fire for a cartoon that was handed out to students depicting modern-day cops as slave owners and the Ku Klux Klan.
Christopher Moreno, who teaches 11th graders at Westlake High School, handed out a sheet containing a series of cartoons.
The cartoon was previously handed out to students in Texas.
The first cartoon is a panel of five depictions of a man kneeling on a black man. The man kneeling over the handcuffed black man is depicting in various outfits, including as a member of the KKK, a slave owner, a sheriff and a police officer.
In the last two sketches, the black man says "I can't breathe" - what George Floyd said when he was knelt on by then-police cop Derek Chauvin.
My daughter showed me the paper. I said, `What is this?! Youve got to be kidding me! Westlake mom Ania Paternostro told the NY Post.
This cartoon compares the police to the KKK. Its an attack on the police.
This cartoon is disturbing. We have to respect the men in blue who protect us, she added.
We dont need a teacher brainwashing my kids. Ill teach my kids about whats right and whats wrong.
Mount Pleasant School District Superintendent Kurt Kotes and Westlake Principal Keith Schenker received complaints, and promised an investigation.
In a letter to parents, Kotes said: "I want to address an issue that I have recently been advised is of deep concern to many members of our community.
Specifically, I have been advised that one of our High School teachers may have recently conducted a lesson that many have deemed to be highly controversial in the current climate.
I want to assure the community that the District will be conducting a thorough investigation to determine what exactly occurred in this particular classroom and what, if any, action is to be taken under the circumstances to appropriately address the matter, he said.
Once the investigation has been completed we will follow up with the community to the extent necessary and legally appropriate.
Moreno has not yet given a comment to media.
The incident comes after Floyds death in Minneapolis sparked protest across the country, with many calling for the defunding of police and the ending of systemic racism.
The same cartoon was included in an online assignment for students in the Wylie Independent School District in Texas.
Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott called for the teacher who assigned the lesson to be fired.
A teacher in a Texas public school comparing police officers to the KKK is beyond unacceptable, Abbott tweeted.
The teacher should be fired. Im asking the Texas Education Agency to investigate and take action.
BLM is to Blacks what KKK is to whites. Except BLM is a lot more powerful at this particular time in history.
Ahd that joke is stupid. What evidence does the George Floyd case have that it had anything to do with race? He was a bad actor being taken down. He then died of a drug overdose at the hospital. Unless someone is making the argument that the cops forced him to take drugs, this is stupid.
How much longer before these radicals start teaching their students to become suicide bombers?
Only the last guy was taking drugs....
The deceased G. Floyd who had a criminal record did not die from any sign of a constricted windpipe as the autopsy showed. He had drugs in his system that exacerbated his existing breathing condition. His choice to get high on drugs led to his death.
Like the lie of “hands up don’t shoot” for the “gentle giant”, silly ditzy women’s talk shows will keep this new lie going. Along with BLM supporters doing it. Officer Darren Wilson was being beaten to death in his squad car by a much larger violent criminal and acted in self defense. An innocent officer had his life and his family’s life ruined by the actions of that criminal-—who had bullied and threatened the store employee while stealing a box of cigars earlier.
The cops in Australia grabbing people off the streets for opposing COVID lockdowns and raiding their homes for organizing anti-lockdown protests wear black uniforms.
That’s more like the Gestapo to me.
Looks like Marxist/Lenin indoctrination is alive and well in high school. Reflects the political far left in our Teacher’s Union. This has to stop if we want to keep our country. Anyone who votes for a Democrat, not just for President, but for any office, is voting to destroy America and our way of life. The Oligarchs are few in number and have most of the money, but those they seek to enslave and punish are many. The anguish and poverty which will follow in their wake if they win will be unbelievable, just like the French and Russian Revolutions. Christians will be the first to suffer.
If that teacher wasn’t immediately fired my child would be out of that school right now.
To late see Portland
Butt the KKK was founded by Democrats; Charles KKK Byrd was a grand poo-bah of it.
And nobody has talked about what damage, if any, the virus he tested positive for, may have done to his lungs.
The cartoon is wrong. There’s supposed to be an African tribesman kneeling on the prone body of the African he captured for the white slave traders.
Too stupid to know that both organizations are part of the Democratic Party history.
On the Greg Gutfeld show this past Sat, there was a very funny comment by Tyrus, their huge black guest...he said, “I can just see a couple of old white KKK guys having a beer in their trailer watching the TV showing a bunch of white kids burning down black neighborhoods and businesses and looking at each other saying, ‘who knew it would have been this easy’”??

Yeah. Exactly.
Unfortunately, that ship has sailed.
Exactly.
Hush now, you’re ruining the Marxist narrative.
LOL!! My bad!!
