PHNOM PENH, Cambodia The Khmer Rouges chief jailer, who admitted overseeing the torture and killings of as many as 16,000 Cambodians while running the regimes most notorious prison, has died. Kaing Guek Eav, known as Duch, was 77 and had been serving a life prison term for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The communist Khmer Rouge regime that ruled Cambodia from 1975-79 was accused of genocide for causing the deaths of so many of their countrymen from executions, starvation and lack of medical care due to its radical policies. Only after neighboring Vietnam pushed the Khmer Rouge from power did the scale and barbarity of their rule become absolutely clear.

The New York Times called Pol Pot a visionary agrarian reformer.

Let’s not forget Noam Chomsky’s role in getting western academia to look the other way to the Cambodian genocide.
You know it’s a pretty bad place when you thrilled to be liberated by the communist army of Vietnam.
Also, there has never been a communist type revolution imposed on a hostile people (us) anywhere close to the level of training, knowledge, wealth and weaponry we bring to bear.
The communist kids can play their games, but ultimately, they cannot deal with our side if they keep pushing past that point. And knowing where the point is, is more art than science.
Sounds a lot like a community organizer.
Yep. The left wanted us out of Vietnam. Peace out, man!
Ironically in the photo at the source, there is a photo of him in court, wearing glasses. He murdered thousands for that same “crime”.
Come on. Can’t you see *some* benfits from marching the faculties and students from the so-called elite universities out to the farm fields to engage in manual labor?

China supported the Khmer Rouge and actually attacked Vietnam in 1979 as punishment for Vietnam’s attacks of the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia.
What is amazing is that Pol Pot survived and died of old age in 1998.
I visited the “killing fields” earlier this year. The mass graves were dug up and the skulls are visible in a glass memorial. There is one tree covered in ribbons where they killed children before throwing their bodies in a small pond.
Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge had long been supported by the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Mao Zedong;it is estimated that at least 90% of the foreign aid to Khmer Rouge came from China, with 1975 alone seeing at least US$1 billion in interest-free economic and military aid from China.
Now China has basically taken over Cambodia.
And, I might add, a Mostly Peaceful visionary agrarian reformer.
The democrats have plenty of people who will compete for this man’s job should they ever take over the United States completely. The democrats will begin executing their enemies using government if that ever happens.
Buy weapons and ammo, folks.

Study the Cuban Revolution. Most of the violence on the part of Castro’s band was simulated radio traffic and people shooting off rifles at God knows what in the Sierra Maestra mountains. Eventually Batista’s forces collapsed from a combination of exhaustion and incompetence.
So while logic says that you are likely correct, there is one historical example that sticks out where a handful of yahoo’s actually won.
