CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus gave his NFL broadcast teams a crystal clear ultimatum prior to Sunday's games: no one was to interject personal opinions on Black Lives Matter, kneeling or social justice during the day's broadcasts. Yeah, a ratings bath like the one incurred by the league in Thursday's game will do that!
For once, the fans who prefer football business in the business place of football were heard. The Thursday game in Kansas City suffered a 10-year low in viewership for an NFL season opener, along with a 16.1-percent decline over last year's opener. Fans attending that game booed, too.
McManus said, in the story first reported by Forbes, Our announcers on site at the games are not gonna condone, theyre not gonna condemn whats going on. Theyre going to report it and theyre going to move on.

How will they get back the millions of lost viewers?
Get woke, go broke.
You all sports folk are simply a moment of escape from everyday life.
You all sports folk are not a necessity like food or water.
You all are simply entertainment and there are a million forms of entertainment.
Take you racial, political views and shove em up your asses.
We the viewing public do not give a damn what your take on life is.
Just play your silly game fools.
Let the backlash games commence.
People who other wise feel they did not have a voice in all of this found thiers. Hope it continues across the board with all these companies and corporations who kneel to the mob
I got a lot done on my property. Irrigation lines checked. Worked on my truck. Took inventory of my ammunition. Spent time with my wife. There was an easterly flow of the weather and it was crystal clear for once in the last three weeks. It was a beautiful day. Why would I want to wreck it by watching a bunch of rich anti American thugs put my country down? Damn straight!
These idiots have forgotten the first rule of business. Who is the customer here? Answer the fan, entertain the fan do not lecture them
I did not. Nor will I.
It’s more hot-stove stuff.
Someone with a remaining scrap of sanity pointed out that they were celebrating violent doped-up punks and the murder of cops.
Suddenly it was less about the punks and BLM and became some hazy, vague expression of ‘unity’ even though a) there isn’t unity and b) unity is part and parcel of a team. Or should be.
They blinked.
Wait, the players are being permitted to do these things because its their right to free speech. I guess that doesnt apply to other jobs, like football commentators?

Gee, CBS sports is acting like a business.
Im going to go to work and call my boss a c***.
I will then claim free speech.
Do I detect a little crack in the big dyke?
Used to be big football fan, now, I don’t even know who McManus is. But I appreciate his courage in the midst of insanity.
I will definitely sit out this season. Not one down, not one play.
The third rail of sports is don’t mix sports and politics.
Don’t do it.
