That’s all you ever hear about here, “defund” (not happening short of a real reset following the complete collapse of modern society) “homeschool” (keep being isolated into small groups and single families) or just flee?
You don’t stop a runaway train by keeping moving to the rear cars.
No wonder we are being cancelled, silenced, etc. By ceding these public institutions and spaces we cede control of our own destiny.
These public institutions and their scope are not going away short of meteorite strike or a similar scope event and the only hope is to wrestle control of them and use them to further our culture and values.

Obviously the Pinochet and Franco model would work, but it would have to be a spontaneous thing. Maybe the left will cause such a Franco-style reaction if they decide to commit mass terrorism after the election. Are the punks feeling lucky? I hope so! If they did, we'd have full justification to completely purge academia and build things fresh.
