My point is that you take a democracy, where everyone starts out with freedom of speech. Then it suffers major cracks in the foundation when frequent riots happen. But as long as there are still multiple points of view out there competing with each other every day - whether violently or peacefully, the majority of citizens who share neither point of view still have their freedom of speech protected because there's not one single POV exercising physical domination over everyone else.
In the US now, there are mostly only the Leftists engaging in violence on the streets. But if they push hard enough and long enough, the conservatives will increasingly take up arms, as is starting to happen now but still on a micro-scale compared to the Left.
But if the police departments and prosecutors become tightly controlled by the left .... eg what might happen if all the reasonably fair minded police chiefs are pushed out of office and replaced with leftist partisans who instruct their front line to stand down as the Left continues to escalate violence, then the conservatives will form their own unauthorized armed groups to fight back.
If what happened in Germany ever happened here, then these leftist-run PD's, working hand-in-hand with the leftist DA's offices, would throw in jail everyone on the right and nobody on the left. At this point, the leftist, state-sanctioned Antifa/BLM thugs would have total control of the streets. It would be too late for any completely unarmed, completely peaceful protestors of any point of view - conservative, libertarian or old-line Democrat - to come out on the streets to demand freedom to speak, to bear arms, etc. The moment they'd step out on the sidewalks, Antifa/BLM would attack them and then *they* would be arrested and jailed for "instigating a riot".
As I said, this is my own paranoid conspiracy theory, and it's rather far-fetched. It won't happen any time in the near future because of something we have that 1930 Germany didn't have - 10s of millions of alert, informed, armed citizens in that magic place known as Flyover Country.
I only brought up all of this because of the large number of resignations of chiefs and other top police officials, and the possible scary changes this could bring about in the unholy alliances between PD's + DA's. And this brought back memories of history lessons of how German police dept's were co-opted in 1930, which in turn brought about Hitler's rise.
Doesn’t matter who they are.
What matters is destroying the system.
It is not that far-fetched of a “conspiracy theory”. In fact, that is what is already happening within a number of major cities. It is limited for now to those cities...wildfire arson notwithstanding...but the Leftist street gangs have functional control of the streets and the police now in certain cities through far-left/communist city governments.
Screw Detroit. We could really use this guy in a national position!
