It is a beautiful farm. We just bought 42 acres in Foley, Alabama. It’s in Baldwin county, the one on the east side of Mobile Bay. It’s a peanut field right now. Hope the farmer doesn’t lose his crop. I’ve never had to worry about two places before. I guess Sally is going to decide for us rather to sell this place and move south or not.
Our Father will show you the way,we decided to keep the Shore place and sell the house 5 years ago.We decided to sell the Shore place a month ago and buy Lakefront up the mountians. You just know.
My sister lives in Baldwin County near Summerdale (just north of Foley). The eye of Hurricane Ivan passed right over her house and I suspect Sally will too. Ivan was a Cat 4 and it blew down her chimney and fences and sprang a leak in the master bedroom closet.
Sally is only a Cat 1 but she’s taking her good sweet time making landfall which can be worse than Ivan in the long run because of more rain and flooding. They own about six horses. They’ll be okay if their stall holds up but, if that blows down, that could get pretty nasty.
No idea if they evacuated but I’d bet a lot of people did not because Sally didn’t pack the high winds of a storm like Ivan.
