Over here in the Idaho Panhandle, the smoke moved in overnight. Yup, pretty murky up where I'm at. The weather-guessers are saying it'll be that way until Sunday evening. Then rain. I could use a little rain.

Look south of Yakima on that map. Dante’s Inferno. No local fires, but AQI=563 here.

Our kids in the San Fran Bay Area were getting 500s. Our daughter and boyfriend headed up the coast on Highway 1 on vacation...and promptly got into the smoke and power outages on the Oregon coast. They gave up camping in the Olympics and came over here to Idaho a few days ago. Luckily they had clear air for three days. Now they are thinking of heading over to Yellowstone and the Tetons trying to stay ahead of the smoke! You have to be flexible on a west coast vacation these years.

My girlfriend’s daughter and family were similarly trying to evade the worst areas in southern Oregon, but hit a buck and ended the vacation and also the Pathfinder. I think I would shelve the vacays right now.

Thankful for no human injuries though and little boy was unruffled in back seat. Rented car and drove back to Spokane.
