RE: So you are saying it wasnt these Arab nations fault that Israeli recognition was impossible to come by previously, but rather an insistence by prior administrations that the Palestinians be part of any agreement?

Yes, and also the very fortunate CHANGE of regime in these Arab countries. Saudi Arabia happens to now have a more moderate ruler in place.

There is also one other factor mentioned by others in this thread — the growing threat of Shiite IRAN to dominate the middle east ( see Yemen ). Now that Trump has boxed the Mullah’s into a corner, he is using American might and protection as leverage. The fact that Israel faces the same threat as these Sunni Arab countries and has ALWAYS kept her part of any peace deals ( e.g. Jordan,Egypt) is another catalyst to the peace deals.

Lacking any evidence to the contrary, your thoughts are convincing. It makes me wonder how, if this is the case, previous administrations could have been so inept as to insist on Palestinian approval for other Arab/Israeli relations? Perhaps the moderation of Arab rulers does play a part as well. Sometimes its just a matter of good timing that you can get opposing parties to agree?
