I am inclined to agree until I had a checkup with my Primary Dr last month. I have Lupus, Sjogrens AND RA. I am the one the “Karens” screech about protecting. I was diagnosed, after 4 months of tests when they thought I had Lukemia, in 2013. At this point I KNOW how to take care of myself and have for 7 years now. I am ANTIMASK. The Dr Office where my Dr is located requires a mask to enter the bldg so I wear one. I was complaining to my Dr about wearing the mask and he told me the EXACT same thing in the article above. He said “If you ONLY get a small dose of the Virus you have a chance of surviving it with your severly compromised Immune System. IF you get a full dose,your chances of survival are grim”. He is NOT a hysteric. He was serious, he told me I HAVE to be careful for a while and a mask is a big part of it. It wont be forever but it WILL save my Life.
I COMPLETELY understand the skeptical comments here, before my checkup I would have said the same but now, I dont want to get sick because my IS cant fight it right now. When it runs its course a little more and dilutes, I have a chance but until then, in public, it's the stupid mask.
