Trump blasted him as a washed up Creepster who should be in jail because the memoir contained classified information.
With all this bad blood between them, there would be no reason for Bolton to defend the president, yet even he said The Atlantics story claiming the president called fallen soldiers losers is simply false.
According to what that article said, the president made disparaging remarks about our soldiers, the people buried at the Aisne-Marne cemetery in connection with the decision for him not to go to the ceremony that was planned that afternoon and that was simply false, he told Fox Newss Martha MacCallum. I dont know who told the author that, but that was false and I recount that in my book The Room Where it Happened and reaffirmed that in response to questions the next day.

The truth doesn’t matter. Although proven false, the media and the democrats will be claiming for the next 2 months that Trump made those remarks.
They don’t care if what they say is proven false. They just wait a few weeks until a brain-dead public forgets, and then they continue as if it were true.
Like the people who believed the world was ending on August 26 and it didn’t end, they kept believing anyway. They just changed the year.

President Donald Trumps alleged remarks disparaging soldiers who died in combat are despicable if accurate and will further damage him politically among service members and their families, his former National Security Adviser John Bolton said. These comments are despicable. If he made them, they are despicable, Bolton said in a Bloomberg Radio interview on Friday.
Snip
But Bolton, who published a book earlier this year that was heavily critical of his former boss, said the alleged remarks sounded accurate.
I have not heard anybody say, Oh, that doesnt sound like the Donald Trump I know, Bolton said in the interview. Bolton said the remarks may have stemmed from Trumps skepticism of U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was prone to say from time to time: What did they get out of it? What was the worth of the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan? Bolton said. That is a kind of insensitivity that Trump does have, theres no doubt about it.
Bolton can go suck lemons. Or Don Lemon. Or both.
I have several liberal annoyances who are going to find this very annoying and most inconvenient.
Well, that and Goldberg admitted that the actual helicopter story was probably false, even though he believes the same people who lied to him about that.
Oh, and we now know that even HIS sources are saying that Trump said “loser” about specific generals, NOT about servicemen. In the end, this is about a few people who Trump attacked pretending he was talking about the entire military.
Bolton probably has no friends left and is hoping to get back a couple.
He has said what a lot of people said. He WANTS to attack Trump, so he says “If the story is true”, but also notes that every part of the story he has first-hand knowledge of is false, and that he NEVER in all his time with Trump heard trump say anything like it.
He even notes that he would have happily put it in his book if he had ever heard such a thing.
Bolton has actually been pretty good for Trump. As a Trump Hater, he has “credibility” and gets on TV. But his book had nothing that was terribly damaging, he denounced the impeachment process, and he has backed trump in several of these smear campaigns.
