Only 2 days without power is pretty good for a third world US state!
Kalifornia.
Amazing that the only things the government should be doing like ensuring public safety, protection of property and contitutional rights and your ability to get essentials like food water and electricty...it cannot or will not do because it is too damned busy doing a million other things it should not be doing. But there are now American generations that don’t even know how good things can and should be expected to be. Keep voting D. Gotta keep abortion legal!
Wasnt California the first state to mandate restaurants not serve a complementary glass of water (long time ago)?
How do you spell California now: “Venezuela”!!!!! Get used to it .... you finally got everything that you thought you “deserved”..
Pg&E turning off power due weather high winds dry conditions
“It is absolutely, completely reasonable to expect to have electricity in 2020. This isnt Venezuela.”
It will be....
Nicely Said.
A community on Mount Hood in Oregon will have it’s power shut down due to potentially fire causing hot high winds.
Those East winds are right now on the Oregon Coast. We have a fire weather warning. We may lose power too but because of falling tree limbs.
My eyes are irritated from the smokey air from fires in Central Oregon and CA.
Yep, both types going on at once. Poor maintenance by PG&E/CA forest management resulting in “PSPS” shut offs, and grid power shortages also going on today thru Wednesday.
“Wow,you know, it’s like, you know, I’m like, you know, like Walden Pond, dude, I’m like, you know, a real like, you know , progressive. Cool, dude!
“This is not because of an emergency or disaster it is from gross incompetence.”
It’s because of 40mph winds, 10% humidity and 100deg temps in a tinderbox.
A good spark can kill 500 people in the first hour.
You can’t cut all of it down.
The major transmission routes are pretty clear now. But there are spurs and service drops that will never be clear.
Need a backup plan.
.... Plus ........ PG&E learned a few years ago to shut down the power grids ever since they were sued and lost $18 Billion because their equipment sparked fires back in 2017-18 ...... They are protecting their very existence by doing so.

Using electricity is “acting white.”
