The president went on to claim that the vaccine could become available during the month of October....He added: The vaccine will be very safe and very effective. Trump slammed Democrats, saying they should apologize for the reckless anti-vaccine rhetoric, which he said undermines science and whats happening. Its a fake rhetoric and a political rhetoric, he added.

Still not taking it.
And PS to the folks here touting “The Science” in a vaccine that isn’t invented yet:
Please point out where “the science” has been correct on this ChiComFlu.
90% of positive tests are incorrect.
90% of deaths attributed are incorrect.
Church spreads it, riots don’t.
Masks work, but they don’t.
6 foot spacing is completely arbitrary and effectiveness
unknown.
Some people have died because of this illness. Old, overweight, diabetic, lupus, COPD, heart disease, etc. Most people who have had it either don’t realize they had it or are completely over it.
Like the flu it is giving evidence of mutating. The flu shot is almost worthless and they want to add another injection of worthless every year?
The pharmacuetical industry has become poison.
The FDA approves all kinds of drugs and then 1 year later they’re pulled and lawsuits commence but who cares? The money has been made that lawsuits will never touch.
Why does this never happen with vaccines from the same companies?
Everything about this ChiComFlu event has been trumped up, lied about, politicized and used to take advantage of tyrannical power grabs for the leaders that want it. No law or rule is questioned anymore. Some governors are now saying the same protocols will be enforced for flu season.
This entire situation is nothing but 100% Grade A Bullsh!t.
And you come trying to shame those of us that refuse to be gaslighted? Peddle your papers elsewhere. You just need common sense to see through this, not a science degree.
Most people forget that 100 years ago it was commonplace that half of children in a given family did not survive to adulthood
Whatever happens is bound to give me mixed feelings.
I don’t want the vaccine, but have a bit of stock in both Pfizer and JNJ.
multiple vaccines are now in phase 3 trials
How did they get that far? It usually takes far longer.
Interesting post, thanks for the stats.
The other piece of the puzzle is your immune system. Mine is terrific. Have been taking the supplements that build immunity with breakfast for the last 40 years.
D3, A, 1 gram C, Zinc picolinate. Plus iodine—I get ground kelp, sprinkle on fish or in tomato juice. My daughter reminded me that she got really sick of all the kelp I shoved into her when she was a kid, but has a new sushi bar nearby that wraps sushi in kelp. What’s not to like?
Sure, I should trust you and bill gates. Laugh my rear off. I have done other vac’s I just will not do this one - who made you king in your own mind.
Thank you, I tip my hat to you. Cheer to you
Looks to me like gas man is one of the corona Karens. A sleeping tyrant waiting for the right moment to come out.
Yes, yes, President Trump is ramming the vaccines through to meet his political deadlines and they’re all made of poison and death. /s
I have to check the URL when I see some of these posts. They’re carbon-copies of what they’re saying over at DU.
Fact: Every candidate is going through all the normal phase 1, phase 2, and phase 3 clinical trials.
Fact: Every candidate is being tested with TENS OF THOUSANDS of volunteers over the course of MONTHS.
Fact: President Trump is not going to allow the approval of any vaccine that is unsafe or that is ineffective. Nor is the FDA.
Large antibody study offers hope for virus vaccine efforts
Associated Press by way of Fox News

https://www.foxnews.com/health/large-antibody-study-offers-hope-for-virus-vaccine-efforts
[Excerpt:]
“Antibodies that people make to fight the new coronavirus last for at least four months after diagnosis and do not fade quickly as some earlier reports suggested, scientists have found.
Tuesdays report, from tests on more than 30,000 people in Iceland, is the most extensive work yet on the immune systems response to the virus over time, and is good news for efforts to develop vaccines.”
President Trump streamlined the process so some do-nothing FDA bureaucrat wasn’t sleeping at his desk while the paperwork sat in his inbox for months on end. The process to get approval is still the same. They still have phase 1 human trials, then phase 2 human trials, and finally phase 3 human trials. In total, it’s tens of thousands of volunteers who are carefully monitored over the course of several months.
Another thing that’s changed is the time it takes to create a viable vaccine candidate. With polio it took decades. With varicella it took years. With SARS-CoV-1 (SARS 2003) it took 20 months. With Ebola in 2014 it took 7 months. Zika in 2016 took 6 months. SARS-CoV-2 in 2020 took 2 months. We’re getting better and faster at creating the initial candidates thanks to incremental improvements over time. The process of creating a vaccine candidate just isn’t normally front-page news all the time, so we haven’t seen that improvement happening over time.
.....mutating Coronaviruses like influenza....
1. Influenza is NOT a coronavirus!!! The issue with influenza is not only that it mutates, but that different strains may become prevalent in a given year (i.e., by moving in from another part of the world ). Taking the flue vaccine is a good idea because even when those who determine a given year’s flu vaccine composition “guess” wrong, vaccinated people usually have a milder case. And elderly people tend not to get pneumonia, which is the real killer.
2. Although the mortality rate from covid for those under 65 is low, there is also morbidity to consider. For example:
https://health.clevelandclinic.org/what-it-means-to-be-a-coronavirus-long-hauler/
There is no way to predict who will develop these “long haul” symptoms. The receptor for the covid virus is present in most tissues of the body, so there may be long-lasting effects of the disease on the heart, kidneys, intestines, and other organs. And there is no way to predict these effects, either.
Finally, governments will not allow us to get back to normal until we have a vaccine or vaccines, and enough people take them to achieve herd immunity. I for one would like to ditch masking, social distancing, and other restrictions. So we need population-wide vaccination, once we have safe and effective FDA-approved vaccines. From that posit of view, it is irrational to refuse vaccination!!!!
Thanks for the information. I don’t take vaccines that I dont know long term effects are. I haven’t had any flu since 1978.
Or perhaps gas_dr is a medical doctor who doesn’t like watching people die of a preventable disease.
He or she probably also really appreciates that the smallpox vaccine wiped that disease off the face of the planet so there aren’t any more smallpox patients dying. Preventing diseases that kill people is a good thing.
The survival rate for COVID-19 is 99.35% (100-0.65). https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html
The rest of your post is equally misinformed. The human immune system is imperfect and many people with perfectly well functioning immune systems have died throughout history from various pathogens. And the vaccine isn’t rushed. That’s a talking point straight from DU. Maybe you’d be happier talking with them about how President Trump is trying to poison us all with the vaccine.
I think I’d rather talk to CTG than someone who entered this year, troll.
