The ruling elites in this country have figured out a legal bribery loophole. In the old days, someone who wanted to influence a politician might try and bribe them directly. This produced rather bad optics when the politician was caught accepting bags of cash.

Nowadays, elites have their relations, often their grown children, act as a bag-man for bribes. The politician does not take the bribe directly. His son or daughter sits on some board of directors or gets an amazingly lucrative consulting gig from a foreign government. It’s all very cozy. it’s all very corrupt. They’re selling out our country and its people.
