Joe Biden Touts Wall Street Support for His Plan to Abolish American Suburbs
Breitbart ^ | 6 Sep 2020 | JOHN BINDER

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden is touting Wall Street’s support for his $640 billion housing plan that would force low-income, multi-family housing developments into America’s suburban communities.

During a visit to Kenosha, Wisconsin — where the Black Lives Matter organization and members of Antifa have led riots for weeks — Biden told supporters that Wall Street supports his housing plan because it “will increase the GDP.”

“And by the way, it’s not a waste of money. Even the folks on Wall Street point out that will increase the GDP, make it grow,” Biden said of the plan. “People will do better, people will do better.”

Biden’s housing plan, as Breitbart News has noted, would implement an unprecedented expansion of Section 8 housing vouchers while requiring that local communities abolish strict zoning laws in order to become eligible for certain federal grants.

The plan provides a $300 million investment “to give states and localities the technical assistance and planning support they need to eliminate exclusionary zoning policies and other local regulations that contribute to sprawl.”

Communities unwilling to eliminate their zoning laws to allow multi-family, mixed-income housing development in their neighborhoods would be shut out of federal grants under Biden’s plan:

Exclusionary zoning has for decades been strategically used to keep people of color and low-income families out of certain communities. As President, Biden will enact legislation requiring any state receiving federal dollars … to develop a strategy for inclusionary zoning, as proposed in the HOME Act of 2019 by Majority Whip Clyburn and Senator Cory Booker.

Let’s give this a try in Kenny Bunkport and Carmel, and give it about 5 years, then let us know how it worked...

This was a law that was already on the books fully funded during Obama’s Presidency, passes by a republican Congress under Paul Ryan’s stewardship and DNC chairperson Tom Perez.
It’s was President Trump and Ben Carson,I think by Executive Order but not sure, that have put the cabash on the project.
Not Surprising Biden wants to put the Law back into effect if he is elected.

FRUITCAKE.

We live semi rural, all our suburbs were annexed by Memphis, services never work, crime high, higher property, car taxes. Not failing to mention crime in government and street violence.

“Exclusionary zoning has for decades been strategically used to keep people of color and low-income families out of certain communities.”

Yeah, that’s why ONE HALF of American black families already live in the suburbs. They have been fleeing the city pathologies and crime for a long time now. I doubt these people who successfully fled the sick cities want that crap following them to the suburbs.

“exclusionary zoning” has kept me out of “certain communities” for decades. I don’t have the millions of dollars needed to buy into exclusive gated communities with their one-acre lot minimum size and staggering HOA monthly fees.

The ComDems won’t be satisfied until we are all Harrison Bergeron.

Our little California community has had a two story height limit since it was founded around 1905. We have had local zoning to enforce this. The STATE says THEY have to take over zoning and a judge has approved a FIVE story building on our main street surrounded by two story buildings.

It’s this tyranny of far-away know-it-all social do-gooderism that is so vile and unjust. The GD liberals know exactly how every one of us should live, who our neighbors should be, what we should eat, what we should drive, etc etc.

Big business, whose only goal is to make money,...sees that ... packing people into those buildings can show a huge profit; are for this, I am sure.

If that is so, why hasn't "Big Business" built Section 8 housing all over the country?

For that matter, why hasn't small business done so?

Why are the yuppies spending so much for "Tiny Houses".

Biden's plan is just like the zoning codes he condemns. One set of politicians controlling how and where we build our homes. There is an acute need for affordable housing to be placed anywhere!

A Shortage of Affordable Homes

This is caused primarily by oppressive governmental codes which prevent private enterprise, Big Business and Small, from building what is needed.

"Big Business", like individual people, comes in all flavors: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. If it were not for entrepreneurs like Henry Ford figuring out how to build something better and cheaper and thus becoming "Big Businesses" (see the "Better Mousetrap" theory), we all be walking or riding bicycles or horses. HDTV, Smartphones, affordable airline travel and all the ther luxuries we enjoy today would be non-existent.

Many people would be forced to try to earn a living share cropping without Big Business employers. Sure, business needs controls & limits, as do individuals. Businesses, large and small, are no better or more moral than the individuals of the society & culture in which they exist.

So develop an idea that people like and want. Sell your product or service at a price which benefits both your customer and your company. Be the next Truett Cathy and Chick-fil-A!

They are putting a five story building in downtown Lost At Last? There goes the neighborhood.

I miss the 70s, in spite of gas lines and Jimmah. That was a great place back then.

Yep. This scumbag developer Sorenson wanted three stories. The city council nixed that, so the bastard came back with a FIVE story proposal. It went to court and the judge said “Yes, your local zoning regs don’t mean anything. You have to take the five story building.” It MIGHT get cut back to four stories. It’s going where the nice old Christian Science Reading Room building with it’s quaint brick courtyard is located (now shut down).

The poor little town is getting completely ruined by the gazillions of dollars spewing out of Google, Facebook, Apple (et al) which is stimulating the growth and rapacious developers.

Developers have been a problem there for a long time. Many of them were also city councilors. That’s why there aren’t many parks there.

The plan is to force people to live with people they don't like and have nothing in common with... of course this new law won't apply to Martha's Vineyard... or any of the other white liberal 'elite' hangouts.
