One reason for the surging, often protracted violence in US cities is the rise of a host of progressive prosecutors who actually tilt against law and order.
In Contra County, Calif., outside San Francisco, DA Diana Becton will now consider looters needs when weighing criminal charges. At Politico, she and four other black, female DAs (from Chicago, Boston, St. Louis and Durham) actually slammed the very criminal-justice system they were elected to enforce ludicrously claiming it was constructed to control Black people and people of color and that its now doing just that.
The Bay Citys DA is Chesa Boudin, the son of Brinks robbery cop-killers who was raised by radical Weather Underground leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn. He, too, has adopted rules making it harder to prosecute suspects.

Soros funded their campaigns???
Was just coming back to post that; forgot it!
“The trend is most glaring in places known for their kooky left-wing politics, like Portland and San Francisco, but extreme leftists have also taken over as district attorneys in cities like Chicago and Boston. Many owe big thanks for their elections to funding from far-left fatcat George Soros.”
Didn’t I read that Trump was deputizing local law enforcers so that they can take perps directly to Federal court instead of having to rely on local anti prosecuting DA’s.
They can be doxxed.
Barr should sue them for violating equal protection under the laws.
Oregon State Police have been cross-deputized as federal agents, yes. Haven’t heard of any other locations, at least not for the riots.
I have heard it being done in the past with drug task forces.
“...They can be doxxed....”
They all need to be. They’re bought and paid for by Soros and a threat to our nation. Soros should be deported to Russia.
Are DA’s above the law? Can they be prosecuted for dereliction and failing to uphold their Oath of Office?
Just wondering.
bttt
His decade-long effort is really paying off.
Soros backed district attorneys
Soros backed mayors
Soros backed prosecutors
Soros backed district attorneys

Need to bring back tar and feather and running them out of town on a rail methods. Should be great fun!
Heh. The system is designed to tolerate a certain amount of abuse of discretion, on the fiction that prosecutors are nominally honest.
"Equal protection" has the same validity as "objective press."
One of the mayor Soros’ project. Elect DAs who will nullify the laws and set the lawbreakers free. He is into it even now. E.g. here in Az he is funding the campaign of the Democratic DA candidate for Maricopa County. (Maricopa County contains about 2/3 of all Arizona residents.) Please, spread the word. We cannot afford more Soros DAs!
Hooray for the New York Post editorial board for saying it out loud.
Most media are invested in hiding this.
They certainly seem to be above the law, dont they? They do whatever they feel like doing with complete impunity.
After her mother got out of prison for felony murder she was appointed to the faculty at Columbia University, where she is the co-director of the Center for Justice, she has also served as visiting faculty at NYU Law and has received many awards.
Look, you have to realize HOW FAR AHEAD they are.
There are processes in place for removing a district attorney; varies by state of course.
For example, NC says willful misconduct in office; willful and persistent failure to perform his duties; conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice which brings the office into disrepute. They list other things (moral turpitude being one).
In NC, it’s filed with the county court where the district attorney is located. I suspect if everyone is corrupt/in cahoots with each other, it’s hard to get anything done.
Not sure if the federal government can do anything if the entire county is corrupt.
Yes. Many Oregon police were deputized as feds.
