What’s the worst that could happen?
Washington Post ^ | By Rosa Brooks SEPTEMBER 3, 2020

We wanted to know: What’s the worst thing that could happen to our country during the presidential election? President Trump has broken countless norms and ignored countless laws during his time in office, and while my colleagues and I at the Transition Integrity Project didn’t want to lie awake at night contemplating the ways the American experiment could fail, we realized that identifying the most serious risks to our democracy might be the best way to avert a November disaster. So we built a series of war games, sought out some of the most accomplished Republicans, Democrats, civil servants, media experts, pollsters and strategists around, and asked them to imagine what they’d do in a range of election and transition scenarios...

Picture This:

Trump refuses to concede, alleging on Twitter that “MILLIONS of illegal ALIENS and DEAD PEOPLE” have voted in large numbers and that the uncounted ballots are all “FAKE VOTES!!!” ...

For obvious reasons, we couldn’t ask Trump or Biden — or their campaign aides — to play themselves in these exercises, so we did the next best thing: We recruited participants with similar backgrounds. On the GOP side, our “players” included former Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele, conservative commentator Bill Kristol and former Kentucky secretary of state Trey Grayson...

(ROFLMAO ...)

Guessing: Loss of internet being primary. Possible power grid issues. Mass protests and violence coordinated in purple battleground states. Massive outbreak of cooties?

I wish people wouldn’t say this every election. This is the one election that is most important in our lifetime. 2016 was close. But the others obviously were not. Can you imagine how much leverage we’d have if we didn’t say that every election?

Someone says that EVERY two years for as long as I ‘care to remember’.

Always something...

Like the past few Prez elections the ‘rumor’ has been that the sitting Pres was going to declare martial law or not leave it not reelected

The laws themselves clearly choose to be anonymous, just like all the informants that the WP relies upon for its hit pieces.

“President Trump has broken countless norms and ignored countless laws during his time in office,...”.

Unfortunately my sister in California will read and believe this without question. If I were to ask which norms or laws, or even go further into the intent or benefit of actions, she will shut down. This is the problem with our masses, they are too easily led in this time of electronic communication made worse by a desire to conform and be accepted. Our educators have failed by allowing for indoctrination instead of fostering reasoned analysis of issues. The crowd attitude of “we’re right, you’re wrong” has severely limited the chances for a well reasoned compromise or solution. Please encourage people to question and think for themselves.
