"Because the politicians didn’t intend to win it."

Amen. My brother enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was eventually shipped to Vietnam. He was there '66-67 in the 25th Infantry Division stationed in Cu Chi. His letters were calm, talked about Operation this, and Operation that, guard duty, but nothing in detail. He never talked about any of the bad stuff during his time there. He died in 1995 at age 51.

We grew up on John Wayne war movies, and others made in the 50's. From the time my brother was a little boy, all he wanted to do was be a soldier. In school, while in class, he wasn't much for learning, and most of the time he was drawing stick figure soldiers fighting, along with tanks, and bombs exploding. He had the green Army men that he played, with, along with Cavalry and Indian Frontier sets. I never had a chance to ask him if he was ever disappointed by his actual experience during the three years he served. I'm sure he was disappointed at some point, but he never spoke about it. It was always my belief that our military could have won, had they been allowed to fight the war the way it should have been.

According to FOX’s Trace Gallagher this morning Trump never made the remarks attributed in the Atlantic and he was there. Gallagher also disputed the claim Trump did not want to stand in the rain because of his hair when Trump did just that, stood in the rain for an hour the next day at another cemetery. Sarah Sanders who was present on the trip also disputes the Atlantic claims. Also seems very ambiguous about what Jennifer Griffin is confirming. Griffin is agenda driven that’s for sure. Never had much credibility with me as a retired Air Force Intelligence officer for national security issues. I cancelled my subscription to The Atlantic so many years ago I had almost forgotten I had one. It turned from being a literary magazine into just another left wing rag. Seems the whole story is just another attempt like the Military Times bogus “selective poll” to drive a wedge between the President and the military. Set up for the post election coup attempt coming. Biden’s support with military is one inch deep. He and Obama were a disaster for the military and we still know it.

One soldier’s opinion.

Major Patriot @MajorPatriot

I served a little over 20 years in the military under GHWB, Clinton, George W and Obama.

I’d gladly trade it all in to serve just the last three and a half years under President Trump.

Until these former officials and unnamed sources come out and make these claims it is all BS.

Yep. But we can watch video of Joe Biden feeling up little girls. Have an undecided voter watch this compilation all the way through. What everyone can see with their own eyes is not fake. Its a perverted old man abusing children.

“Griffin has always struck me as a pro-endless-wars neocon. This whole hit on Trump looks staged by the pro-Iraq war neocon crowd. They hate him because he opposed their Iraq war and he wants out of the Middle East wars”

Jennifer Griffin is a total lefty and was a huge supporter of Hillary Clinton when she ran for President.

This is all about the election.

Just link the dots:

North Carolina is starting absentee voting, and NC has a lot of military there (especially vets and retirees). It is a battleground state. If the Rats can swing some of the military/vet vote they think they can carry NC (which Trump carried in 2016).

The f***ing Dems are so transparent.

"He's been quoted today as saying just because he didn't hear it doesn't mean Trump didn't say it."

Well that's pure BS, because had President Trump said anything that even resembled what he is alleged to have said, that shit would have run through all the levels of the White House staff, and someone would have leaked it when it happened. For cripes sakes, these are the same people who leaked his phone calls to the Australian Prime Minister, and the President of Mexico when he was first in office. These are the same people who volunteered to testify about a phone call in order to impeach him. Had this actually happened, his enemies, and there were plenty then, and there are still plenty around now, would have made sure it got out. It would have been impossible to keep something that damning quiet.

No, there was no “confirmation” because it’s another unnamed source.

My understanding is that before his assassination, JFK was getting disenchanted with the war and was going to take steps to get us out. Once LBJ got in, he ramped things back up.

Lost in all this kerfuffle, was that Joe Biden got deferments because of “asthma”, nevermind that he was a three-sport athlete in high school and was on the Delaware freshman football team.

“ Jennifer Griffin is a total lefty and was a huge supporter of Hillary Clinton when she ran for President.”

You do realize that Hillary Clinton supported Bush’s Iraq War and every Middle East war we’ve become entangled in from that time to now?

On foreign policy, there’s no difference between Hillary-style “lefties” and Republican neocon warmongers. That’s why so many Republican neocon “national security experts” have endorsed Biden

Fox’s Griffin is part of this war-mongering clique, at least that’s how her reporting comes across. Whether she “supportedHillary” as you say, or supported Bush-McCain-Romney-Cheney-BillKristol, doesn’t matter. On foreign policy they all hold the same views. They all want the endless wars to continue, and they want more wars to start

And they all hate Trump because he disagrees with them

“There are many on both sides of the fence that think Vietnam and Afghanistan were dumb ideas.”

Vietnam, yes. Afghanistan, no; at least initially. What was wrong with going into Afghanistan was that we stayed waaaaaaay too long.

I took a look at one Twitter feed - all the usual NeverTrumpers (George Conway, Evan McMuffin (sp) and others) saying it's all true, we trust Jennifer Griffin and her sources. Those that have been dissed by Trump in one way or another are licking their wounds by posting on Twitter and excitedly telling the press their jaded version of how things work (or don't work) in Trump's world.

Lost too is that Biden was an enthusiastic supporter of the dumbest war of all, Bush’s invasion of Iraq, which got 4000 US finest killed based on WMD lies and idiotic “nation building” fantasies

folks, let me say this loudly:

When aggrieved former administration personnel are repeating their lies to different sources, the statements are STILL LIES.

Lies repeated to 10,000 different "journalists" are still lies.
