Why did Michigan go for Trump, but keeps electing RINO and Dem governors?
It didn’t go to Trump by much, had been rat for President since 1992. Senate races have been a disaster since 1994, I hope John James can change that after a strong performance 2 years ago. It’s been a slightly rat leaning state.
Engler was a decent Governor. After his long tenure the rats had the change argument in 2002 and charismatic bitch to nominate, they won by 4 points, in a rat year 2006, she was reelected.
Unfortunately Snyder managed to win the primary in 2010, a good year for Republicans so he ended up getting elected, in the primary he got 36% in race with 4 major candidates, all of whom more conservative than him of course. He romped to victory in November.
That he was reelected by a much reduced margin in another good GOP year says it all. His failures and disloyalty to the party, combined with an already unfavorable election climate, doomed the 2018 GOP ticket.
