There are a lot of solid conservatives frustrated and appalled by the Biden Riots, and a lot of those folks wonder why Donald Trump doesnt just make it all stop you know, sort of like Grandpa Badfinger implicitly promises he will do if we restore the garbage liberal establishment, except with military force. Call up the Guard, right? But what folks do not understand are the practical problems with Trump using troops (sending federal law enforcement officers presents similar problems, but also a unique and big one there just arent as many federal cops as there are soldiers). The devil is in the details, and the devil here makes Trump pulling the trigger on the troops in the current situation a very bad idea. We should support his strategic patience and not do what the Democrats want by getting mad at the president for refusing to stumble into an ambush.
Let me share some background. After I got off active duty the first time, I joined the California Army National Guard. For the next 23 years I participated in, planned, and commanded during multiple civilian support operations. I was in the Los Angeles Riots, the Northridge Earthquake, and I commanded two battalions along with other forces in northern San Diego County during the 2007 fires. I planned ops from platoon to state headquarters level, and wrote about civil support ops in Infantry magazine and even in a first-of-its-kind law review article. So, I know a little about this stuff.
And what I know tells me that, despite our fantastic soldiers abilities, this is a bad idea.

This is a long read, but well thought out and worth the time.

I will also need some days to think about it. I was concerned with tactics and not the important logistics.
Literally, it’s a trap.
Fortunately, Trump knows it.
I suspect the Democraps are trying to provoke sending in troops so Pravda, Tass, and Izvestia (NYT, CNN, MSNBC, etc.) can lie about it and push the Orange Man Nazi BS.
It’s probably better to just keep loudly and publicly offering to send in federal help if the Democraps “will only just ask for it”. Then when their commie nests burn, THEY are the idiots who refused help. Orange man followed the constitution and didn’t step on their precious sensitive widdle toesies.
Sounds like time for Napoleonic “whiff of grapeshot” ..
Kent State
The left wants martyrs. The President will not oblige.
I can’t believe in 1863, that the New York Governor and mayor would not welcome Lincoln’s troops, but the lib/commies such as Ted Wheeler are completely different. They refused Pres. Trump’s help and attacked him whilst running away from the mess they created.
It is a trap to sucker PDJT into sending in the guard, yes.
Unfortunately, the DemoNaziCommie party bosses are happy to burn down as many American cities as necessary to lure President Trump into doing it.
So, we expect to see the Burgle Loot and Mayhem street thugs rioting in more cities and towns between now and Re-election day
SorozNazi hasn’t run out of money yet
Kent state doesn’t bother me; however, I am beginning to worry about logistics for our troops with state and local governments that are decidedly unfriendly.
Trump has offered to send help. The Dem governors and mayors refuse. Let them stew in their own effluence.
These idiots are burning down their own cities. No non rino Republican city or state would accept such shenanigans.
I would like to see an army of clowns go in and make fun of protesters.
“Why Trump doesn’t just ‘Send in the Troops.’”
he wants the feckless, weakling Dem governors and mayors to stew in their own juices prior to the elections ...
unchecked anarchy is a YUGE winner for the forces of law and order, namely Trump and the GOP, whereas Punxsutawney Joe has RECENTLY made only weak statements “condemning” the anarchy, while the rest of the national Dems have either implicitly or even explicitly supported the anarchy ...
“Send in the troops” may have a certain ring to it, but the practical difficulties make any such action both awkward and cumbersome, given the obstacles and the somewhat inappropriate application that the military would have in regards to what is essentially civil policing activity.
While many of these “riot” areas have resemblance to war zones, there is in fact a large civilian population in every one of the targeted areas being held hostage, and the collateral damage would be horrendous, perhaps way beyond that of merely allowing the riot and looting to continue.
The federal police (Homeland Security, US Marshals, FBI) are somewhat more appropriate, but still compared to the demands out there, are very limited in numbers. And they do not have full intelligence developed on the ground, not nearly to the degree that a well-trained and well-ordered local police force would.
What it boils down to is lack of will to keep order by the local elected officials, and obstructive laws they hide behind.
I was an observer at the first rotation at the National Training Center (NTC) after DESERT STORM. It was the combat tested 1st Infantry Division versus the dreaded OPFOR.
The NTC is like a, well, big war game in the real world using lasers instead of bullets.
There was an operations briefing going on. One young Officer kept asking What if? questions.
What if the enemy uses a nuclear weapon?
What if the enemy drops an Airborne Division?
Lots of unrealistic questions that wasted time.
Finally, the Officer doing the briefing had enough.
Then I guess well all just f*****g surrender! Well just haul out the white flags and just give up!
End of questions.
I dont think anybody needed to write an article about why using troops could be a problem.
It benefits no one but the writer.
Have you ever seen Trump uphold the law? Any rule of law left? Between Sleepy Sessions and Bagpipes Barr we have not had an Attorney General.
Call up the militia.
