EXETER, Pa. As traffic made its way down Schooley Avenue on Tuesday, the giant Trump signs on Jeff Davis porch were impossible to miss. Make America Great Again, one read. No more bulls, proclaimed another.
Vice President Mike Pence would hold a rally down the road a few hours later in this former coal mining town, but Davis wasnt going. He suffers from rheumatoid arthritis and says his immune system is down to nothing. Standing on his front lawn, Davis, 57, motioned to his wife and daughter on the porch.
Im still very leery on the COVID thing, he said. Mostly, they go food shopping.
But the coronavirus pandemic hasnt moved him away from President Donald Trump. A retired plumber, Davis used to vote for Democrats supported by his union, including Barack Obama in 2008. He soured on Obama four years later, and voted for Trump in 2016. He plans to do so again.
If it wasnt for the corona, look how good this country was doing, Davis said, citing a strong economy, Trumps tariffs on Chinese goods, and a new deal that replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement. We got to worry about here, the United States, not Iran and Saudi Arabia, kissing their butts. We got to worry about us.

The county of my birth. 2016 Trump yard signs were everywhere. I believe it will still go for Trump!
our county rocks with new billboards
Ridiculously biased dishonest article.
My in-laws voted for the halfrican twice And are still as dumb as a box of rocks in support of the leftists
I've had Luzerne County firmly in the Trump column since '16. The person primarily responsible for Luzerne going Red is Lou Barletta. Lou made a big issue out of illegals some years ago in Hazelton (in Luzerne) when he was mayor. The issue hit home. Hazelton is the population center for Luzerne and it is now decidedly Red. Lou ran for congress and won. However, Lou later ran for governor and lost. Thank you Philadelphia.
The Inquirer should be writing about the counties that went for Hillary in '16 and Trump can turn in '20, but they are leftist cowards. Hillary won 57 of 67 counties in '16. Here are the counties Hillary won and the number of votes that Trump lost by in '16 that could be Trump pickups: (For the non-mathematically inclined, halve the number and add one for a Trump pickup)
Monroe: 224
Centre: 1,456
Bucks: 1,988
Lackawana: 3,491
Dauphin: 3,667
Hopeless are the following counties:
Allegheny (Pittsburgh)
Philadelphia
Chester
Delaware
Montgomery
I have the best feel for Dauphin County since I live there. People are pissed over the ChiCom flu lock downs imposed by Wolf and his tranny sidekick. Dauphin County is a traditionally Republican county. I've seen zero Biden support here.
Trump recently visited Lackawana County for a rally. I think it is in play. The coal and fracking region surround. It has been a traditionally Democrat county of the union variety. It will be a major turn if it goes Red in '20.
Bucks County is the last chance in suburban Philadelphia for Republicans. It was all those soccer moms voting for Hillary that gave her the win. All the bLM and Antifa crap going on in Philadelphia will certainly push some voters to Trump.
Centre County is actually the most questionable of the five potential pickups. The locals are Republicans. However, Penn State is there and college professors and suburban Philadelphia kids going to school could keep Centre County in Rat hands.
How Monroe County was lost in '16, I have no idea. It's going to be Red again in '20.
Lebanon County is a Republican stronghold but I saw plenty of Hillary signs in 2016.
I have not seen a single Biden sign so far.
As to Centre County: Is Penn State on campus? Or are students distance learning? Or a hybrid? Without campus organizing and out of state/county students voting on campus, Dems will lose votes. Your thoughts?
