Oh, and besides, the republicans have no vote at all in who the majority votes in as speaker. It’s completely up to the party in the majority, currently the democrats.

Correction, both parties get to vote but your scenario is pretty far fetched since we don’t have the votes to pull off an upset and AOC would still probably win.

Baloney. The Speaker of the House is elected by ALL the members of Congress. Unlike other posts in Congress like the Senate majority leader, House minority leader, etc. ... the Speaker’s role is written into the U.S. Constitution, which doesn’t even mention political parties.
