The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website disclosed the shockingly small number of people who died from only the Wuhan coronavirus, with no other cause of death mentioned. Hold on to your hat because here it is: out of the 161,392 deaths in the CDC data, just six percent, about 9,700 deaths, were attributed to the coronavirus alone. According to the CDC, the other 94 percent had an average of 2.6 additional conditions or causes of deaths, such as heart disease, diabetes, and sepsis.

I am using the phrase “look it up” on a daily basis.
My wife's brother was on Hospice Care for an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. Lots of people came to visit him, so it is slightly possible that he was exposed to Covid. He died before tests for Covid were available for people other than politicians, health care workers and politicians. His cause of death was classified as “presumptive covid-19” by CDC guidelines. He apparently was coughing and making gurgling noises before he stopped breathing, but it was more likely from all the morphine and other drugs than Covid.
No one in the immediate family and none of the friends that came to visit had any symptoms. A couple weeks after the death my wife's sister and her husband developed a bad sore throat. They were sure that they had Covid and were going to be on death's door, but tests showed that they had a strep related infection, a round of antibiotics and they were good as new.
We still have not been allowed to have a funeral, becasue gatherings of more than 5 people are not allowed in our state.
His wife freaked out when she saw the death certificate because she thought it meant that they had all been exposed. But it was explained to her that he probably didn't have it, but by CDC guidelines because he stopped breathing (which usually happens when someone dies) that by CDC guidelines they were being forced to call it Covid. It was all so ridiculous that my wife who is a nurse was furious.
So do you think that if someone died who was on hospice care, but classified as covid by "CDC guidelines" ...(probably because the doctor and hospital get more money that way) Do you think that they too should be counted??? Because in my opinion it is BS!

Nope, isn’t happening. Once this gets publicity the Media response will be “the Trump Administration controlled CDC plays down Covid Deaths in an attempt to steal the Election” or some other conspiracy theory.
Just another example of Causation verses Contributory, same as in the George Floyd Death. The Meme in that case is the Cop murdered Floyd, from the Potus on down to the man in the street.
It has no basis in fact based on Floyd’s behavior and the level of Drug toxicity in his Blood, but it doesn’t matter.
Politics has infected everything including common sense, rational thought and intellectual curiosity.

You make a good point. I don’t know much about those CDC guidelines. But I’d say throw them out the window. I’d leave it entirely up to the attending physician’s best judgment.
If it seems likely that Covid-19 contributed to the death, then it’s a Covid-19 related death. Otherwise, no.
Unfortunately, there have been numerous examples over the past few months where people who were in serious motorcycle accidents, people who were shot in the head and people who were dying of cancer, heart disease, and other serious conditions have been classified as Covid Deaths. Financial incentives have been put in place that influence the judgement of those who decide this. Tha data has been seriously corrupted by this.
I tell you, I would not doubt it for a second if evidence came forth that democrats were involved in this. These people do not give one rats ass about human lives. Look at Cuomo of New York throwing infected people into nursing homes. That was no accident, he knew damn well those infected would infect the elderly and over 7000 died as a result. My theory is he was ordered to do it to up the death rate so Trump could be blamed. He was ordered which is why nobody is holding him accountable. This is Nazi stuff, this was blatant, intentional mass murder and incredibly after he was exposed he STILL blamed Trump for it!!
I see. The reason for the inflated number is to use it to trash Trump, as they have already done. Remember all the headlines “Grim milestone” when it was 100,000? That number represented those who died, and who had some of the virus in their noses.
The numbers we were given were all fraudulent. They counted the “cases.” By cases, they meant people who had tested positive for the virus, but that’s a fraud. “Cases” really means people who are undergoing medical treatment for the disease, and that’s what people who speak English understood by it. That was a deliberate deception.
This attribution stuff really doesn’t matter. This is all that matters:

This is a profile of all deaths in the US by all causes. ALL CAUSES. Car accidents. Falls off a roof. Whatever. It doesn’t have to decide if a death was covid or not. It presents all deaths and averages the weekly total for the last several years.
This year’s lines are sharply higher than that average for old folks.
Something is killing old folks. Maybe it’s aliens. Maybe it’s loud music.
But more likely, it’s the virus. Nothing else has been talked about as an elder killer that is different this year vs the last several.
If one adds up the Excess Deaths for 65+, and you can do this by state, you get numbers pretty close to the official Covid death count. This suggests it’s not aliens.
As for locking things down to fix it, that somewhat doesn’t matter. NYC had a huge peak and it came down, and everyone celebrated immunity and antibodies. But just yesterday a report came out saying subways are at 25% ridership vs 2019. Similar for commuter trains and the Long Island RR that carries people into the city. Lockdown hasn’t done that. People have done that.
Now you can advocate troops deployed to force people onto trains if you like. I don’t think that’s going to win many votes.
What is shocking is that the CDC admitted to the “error”. The reason behind the correction, if ever revealed, would be interesting. The democrats have weaponized every government entity they control, which is pretty much every government entity.
I had that same thought. The timing sure is suspect. When Trump would crow about the economy at his rallies etc I would think about how the dims would’ve try to destroy his best achievement. I put nothing past them.
Um, no they’re not. Move the decimal point one place to the right. About 1,100...not 11,000.
Trump’s economic success was making the dimrats and obama look bad. The only thing the dims could do is wreck that success. They don’t have a candidate and they are preaching Venezuela style communism. So they had to trash the economy to destroy Trump. That is all they have.
It is related, but NOT the cause. There’s a difference. Similar to a person with multiple maladies dying from cardiac arrest. The other factors contributed, but were not the cause.

Well, that’s strange. I just checked the experience.arcgis website for Florida’s dashboard and it shows Florida deaths at 11,119. I never did trust this site. Where did you get your data?
