Judge Rules 50,000 Iowa Absentee Ballot Applications Invalid (Imagine this fiasco happening in November 2020!)

A state judge has invalidated more than 50,000 absentee ballot application forms sent to voters in Linn County, Iowa, the second-largest county in the state.

The county auditor’s office almost completely filled out the ballot applications, despite the secretary of state’s directions that only the election date be included. The auditor’s actions may have also been against a state law that forbids government workers from filling out the forms.

Judge Ian Thornhill agreed with the Trump campaign, which had sued the county over the ballot applications.

CNN:

The judge sided with the Trump campaign and the Republican Party, which filed a lawsuit this month seeking to discard the absentee ballot request forms. The Trump campaign argued the forms should have been blank except for the election date and type, per the Iowa secretary of state’s directions. Local officials in Linn County, which is home to Cedar Rapids, ignored those directions and sent out the applications with more information anyway.

“It is implausible to conclude that near total completion of an absentee ballot application by the auditor is authorized under Iowa law where the legislature has specifically forbidden government officials from partially completing the same document,” Judge Ian Thornhill wrote in a Thursday ruling.

“Not every county can afford the prepopulated request forms,” the judge also noted.

The county had mailed out 140,000 ballot request forms that had been mostly filled out. They got back 50,000. But now, the county is going to have to invalidate those ballots that were returned and send out new ones.

Judge Thornhill tried to point out the risk of voter fraud.

“Because the defendant sent the ABR [absentee ballot request] forms to voters with the required security information pre-populated, there is no assurance that the ABR forms returned to his office were actually sent by the voter listed on the ABR,” the Trump campaign wrote in its lawsuit. “If the defendant mails absentee ballots in response to the prepopulated ABR forms, any of those absentee ballots that are cast would be subject to challenge and may not be counted in the 2020 general election.”

It’s an open question whether the county can meet its own self-imposed deadlines for mailing ballot applications.

“The county auditor’s office almost completely filled out the ballot applications”

“Almost completely” — did they forget to put the checkmark next to “Joe”?

Yes, it is easy to imagine because this is EXACTLY the chaos the Dems want to be able to steal the election and finally get rid of Trump. There is zero election integrity in the USA any more. Elections in the many sh!tholes around the world are more honest than ours.

I live in Washington state.
ALL the fraudulent votes on election day will be counted and added for weeks or even months after election day.
Bank on it!
Across the nation people are naive about this.
It’s a very bad thing.

Tell President Trump that Republicans are smart enough to go to their polling place no matter how long the lines are.

We will not use absentee ballots unless absolutely necessary.

In-person is my plan and I normally vote absentee. Nothing will stop me from voting straight R with Trump at the top.

And keep the colleges and universities closed.

At least that way, the RAT stew-dents will be forced to vote only one time...from their mommy’s home address.

I hate poor writing. These are applications for ballots not the ballots themselves. The county is going to send out a new batch of blank applications.

The folks who did not yet return thier application can just copy the info off the first one. Intestingly, (My own social-psycho analysis based on previous reading on voter participation and local experience) those 50,000 are the most likely to follow thru and vote vs the second or third group of 50,000. These are people who fill out forms and return them immediately as opposed to people who procastinate, etc. I would guess that 10,000 to 20,000 of these APPLICATIONS are never returned (They may vote in person).

Or apathetic. My vote goes to apathetic. I have tried to warn, alert, enlighten , ever how you wish to phrase, the people are just not interested. I believe that most people strongly believe, our side included, that regardless of which side wins, life will continue as normal the day after the election. They are like the people before the flood. They did not believe it was going to rain despite Noah warning them for years until the water reached their chins. Then it was too late.

We now know why the democrats are so intent on having mail in voting in November. SO THEY CAN CONTEST the election, if Trump wins. If gropey-joe wins, the dems will not contest it and will fight Trump’s contesting it.

It’s to inject doubt in the outcome. They will then go to court, and they are already prepared for that. They’re going to fight dirty.

Does anyone expect Leftist judges to invalidate even the most egregiously fraudulent pro-Democrat ballots?

What a quaint old photo from the days when people actually pretended to want an honest count.

I don't think we'll have Mr. Chad doing his ballot inspection this time 'round.

There will be lot more of this coming because the marxists at every level of government see this as the way for them to "win." Unfortunately, they are going to ask these guys to put down their Molotov Cocktails long enough to count the votes...then they can return to bombing, arson, looting and murder.

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Every time I think of the purple ink remedy, I conjure up pictures of roving gangs armed with purple ink and hunting down obvious ‘other side voters’ to dip their digit.

(Sounds like a Far Side cartoon)
