Actor Jimmy Stewart's daughter, Kelly Stewart Harcourt, penned a letter to The New York Times ripping a Republican National Convention speaker for saying President Donald Trump was like George Bailey, Stewart's 'It's a Wonderful Life' character. Given that this beloved American classic is about decency, compassion, sacrifice and a fight against corruption, our family considers Ms. Harp's analogy to be the height of hypocrisy and dishonesty,' wrote Harcourt.

As a United States Air Force colonel, and later general, Jimmy Stewart would a been 100% for Trump.
Sadly , his daughter us just another Liberal pinhead . What do these people use for brains? Anything?
Exactly. Stewart was a Conservative Republican and would be disgusted at the state of affairs today. He would most certainly compare Trump to George Bailey fighting the “Derp State” corruption of Mr. Potter (or “Mr. Smith Goes To Washington).
Sad that his daughter is a moonbat.
when did she become the copyright holder?
I consider that movie highly overrated. Not the
Rosetta Stone of Western civilization some make it out to be. Just a pleasant, sentimental film from the past.
It’s a Wonderful Life is a horrible film
George Steinbrenner.
Story goes that “It’s A Wonderful Life” was never copyrighted. This allowed TV stations to show it for free causing it’s popularity as the Christmas movie.
Who cares? Shut up. Nobody “slams” your communist pals for anything.
Every time a bell rings, a liberal sheds a tear.
Was Trump mad at the person who compared him to George Bailey? I don’t think he’d want to be compared to the manager of a failed savings and loan?
For many years the movie was in the public domain, but I don’t think she’s asserting any kind of copyright here.
Because of the type of graphical error it was put into the public domain for decades, but eventually some company reasserted it’s rights and since sometime in the ‘90s it can’t be shown freely.

Jimmy Stewart would be supporting the president. But his daughter isn’t a nice person.
Of course we don’t know what James Stewart would have thought of Donald Trump. We do know that Stewart was a good friend and supporter of Ronald Reagan, as many Hollywood actors were during that era. There is a famous SNL skit from the ‘80s that teases their friendship (Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey).
On the other hand, who cares what a Hollywood actor thinks about politics? If they’re a good actor great - act - then shut up.
