One of the two protesters allegedly slain by teen vigilante Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha, Wisconsin, this week confronted armed men shortly before he was killed, shouting, “Shoot me, n—a,” according to reports and video footage.
Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, can be seen in the online video approaching a group of men on a crowded street in Kenosha as he moves closer and closer repeatedly saying, “Shoot me, n—a,” according to a report by Storyful.
Rosenbaum was later shot dead by the suspected 17-year-old gunman during protests over the Sunday police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake in Kenosha.

If you read the timeline and analysis of events from arfcom that I linked in #9, it dovetails nicely with the statements in that press release, which of course is the outline of the legal defense. They have the truth on their side.

According to the autopsy, Rosenbaum's head wound was a graze. According to McGinnis (the Daily Caller reporter following Rosenbaum) in his interview with Tucker Carlson, McGinnis heard a pistol shot behind and to his left and immediately Rittenhouse turned around. He said Rosenbaum closed with Rittenhouse and tried to move the rifle to the side as he charged. McGinnis dodged right 1-2 steps at the same moment. Less than a second later Rosenbaum was down.
Understand. Is the inference that Kyle didn’t shoot him?

Only speculation. The first round went into the pavement, could have been a ricochet that hit Rosenbaum's head. From the reporters' recounting of the autopsy report it sounds like the back shot hit major organs and caused fatal internal bleeding. From the video Rittenhouse stopped firing when Rosenbaum hit the ground.
Have yet to read the autopsy report directly though.
that’s what’s confusing me. The pedophile apparently reached for Kyle’s gun when Kyle shot. If the pedophile was shot in the back, why would he reach for the gun then turn around?
It seems to me Kyle may have hit him with a round or two, but the kill shot was someone shooting at Kyle, the pedophile got in the way and the shot intended for Kyle hit him instead.
You're supposing he was turned around. I suspect he was just falling down. The wound, angle of entry, and/or recovery of a bullet might clear this up.
True. Far too early to speculate. I’ll just wait for the forensics..
